November 12, 201510 yr The Bengals worked out wide receivers DeVier Posey, Colin Lockett and Donte Foster on Wednesday, a source told PFT. Bengals work out three wide receivers | ProFootballTalk
November 12, 201510 yr Author Doesn't make sense to me. We just cut Little, who I believe wasn't active at all this year, we have no injuries of note, 6 WRs on the active roster (counting Rex) and a 7th on the Practice Squad. And if there really is a need at WR why wouldn't they bring Little back? Makes me think something is up we don't know about. Anyone?
November 12, 201510 yr Haven't the Bengals done several of these workout sessions this season with various players and positions? I think it is just checking to see what may be out there in case of injury. I don't read any more into it than that. They have a WR named Jake Kumerow on the practice squad. Do you think they might be able to find someone better than him for added depth?

I would certainly love to be a fly on the wall in some meetings. And Jesse Jackson at practice, no thanks, no way, no how...
November 12, 201510 yr The Bengals workout players all season for when something happens. Plus always looking for players to add to the practice squad.
November 12, 201510 yr Marvin said this morning on his Sirius radio weekly interview that they were just doing due diligence. All teams do this all the time.
November 12, 201510 yr They really need to work out some quarterbacks. That Dalton fellow is horrible.:whistling:
November 12, 201510 yr I guess you always have to have a contingency plan in the event of injury, but I agree, the WR position is awfully deep.
November 12, 201510 yr Author Marvin said this morning on his Sirius radio weekly interview that they were just doing due diligence. All teams do this all the time. Was this comment aimed specifically at the WRs being worked out or other positions too? And if there weren't numerous other positions being worked out too then we are not getting the whole story from Marvin.
November 12, 201510 yr I think you are reading to much into this. People workout players during the season all the time. Teams try to stay ahead of the game, preparing for anything that can happen. They probably know that if something were to happen to one of their top 3 WR, that they would need someone. So even though Little is out there, they probably want to make sure that there won't be someone else better out there than him. Or possibly they know that Little is about to be picked up by someone. Reading to much into this IMO.

Reading to much into this IMO. Maybe but I would like to know what other positions they worked out if any. There has to be something specific about the WR position that we don't know. For example, maybe something happened with Little (before or when they released him) and the Bengals decided not to bring him back even if they are in need and the Bengals (and certainly not Little) want to disclose what happened. Think about it, if you had a need, how could some guy on the street (not another team, not a practice squad) but on the street be better for the Bengals than an experienced NFL WR (Little) who is still available and spent time two different years (including all year this year) on the roster. Plain and simple the Bengals are not telling us something.

Plain and simple the Bengals are not telling us something. Reading to much into. What you are saying is very true, and the Bengals probably realize that too. Little is a guy who had a training camp and been on a team for the first 7 weeks of the season. So if another team starts to have WR injuries, there is a good chance he will get a call from another team on it. The Bengals right now are basically only dressing 4 Wrs a game with Green, Jones, Sanu and Tate. So if any of those three go down, they will need to get a WR. So you might as well look at some guys now, just in case someone gets hurt and Little is already somewhere else.

As long as the Bengals are winning..they can keep all they want hidden from me... I have no idea all that has gone into the Patriots success, but whatever they're doing...it works. Same with Marvin and the Bengals half way through this season. Keep your secrets Marvin...it's working.
November 12, 201510 yr The Bengals did this earlier in the year with other positions maybe more than once. I believe they worked out some linebackers earlier in the year. I can't recall what other positions they had people come in for a workout
