How can you not like a team like the Royals who play the game the way it's meant to be played. Contact hitting and total hustle out of all of them. It's always nice when a team not made up of superstars wins it all.

They kept going on about Hosmer's baserunning on that play in the ninth but I thought he almost blew it by being too hesitant and not getting as good a jump/lead as he should have. With Wright almost to second base by the time he threw it, Hosmer should have been further down the line IMO. If Duda makes a good throw and he is out, are people asking him why he didn't get a better jump on the play?

The only downside of this series is having A Rod commentating. Just not a fan of him at all. For all that the Royals Are good for the game should be played, he represents everything that is wrong with the game.

I know Collins is going to catch some grief for not yanking Harvey a batter earlier and bringing in Familia. But (and I don't expect him to say this) I think the fact that the Royals had already had success against Familia scared the crap out of him.

Wasn't the stat the other game something crazy like only 3 swings and a miss the entire game by the Royals? That is incredible.

 

There was an absolutely mind-boggling stat from one of the early games. So crazy I'll probably get it wrong. deGrom gave up 3 swings and misses in that game. Had a 2-strike count something like 23 times with ZERO swings and misses on those.

I can't remember the exact numbers but the Royals outscored opponents in the playoffs/WS from 7th inning on by a margin of something like 50-5.

How many games did the Royals lose this year when tied or ahead in the 7th? That has to be one of the best records in baseball. Their bullpen is lights out and their hitters know how to get it done at crunch time.

Anyone know where they rank in payroll? Just curious.

 

Happy for Cueto. Hope he gets paid somewhere in the American League this offseason.
