Anyone know where they rank in payroll? Just curious.

Happy for Cueto. Hope he gets paid somewhere in the American League this offseason.

16th to start the year.

I can't remember the exact numbers but the Royals outscored opponents in the playoffs/WS from 7th inning on by a margin of something like 50-5.

Royals have scored 40 runs in the 8th inning or later this postseason and no other team had more than 5.

Royals scored 51 runs in the 7th inning or later and gave up 11.

KC just one the world series playing a style of baseball usually reserved for play at the high school level. Put the ball in play and good things happen. Thats why they won the WS, not because of what the Mets didn't do, but because of what KC did do which is not strike out and put the ball on the ground. Absolutely beautiful baseball IMO to watch. Being a Reds fan I am super glad for Cueto. He deserves this WS as much as anyone in the league.

I'm guessing the "Murphy fervor" that was building during the playoffs has waned.

I'm thrilled that the Royals won! They play my kind of baseball!

Also, I have a friend that works for the Royals so he now has a World Series ring to go with his ALCS ring from last year and they one he'll get from this year.

Side note: He got the job because I turned it down a few years ago. I could have a World Series ring...

Wasn't the stat the other game something crazy like only 3 swings and a miss the entire game by the Royals? That is incredible.

...one at bat for Jay Bruce...

Here is another interesting stat from the Royals post-season run:

There were 7 games in which, at one point during these games, this was their chances of winning:

18%

1%

25%

8%

10%

16%

5%

... and they won all 7 of those games.

That is an absolutely sick stat there. The more you think about it, the more insane it is...the odds of winning all seven games with those stats are like one in a billion or something crazy like that...

I came up with .0000000288 odds to win all seven games. Some stat expert can check my math...

That is what is so amazing about the post-season run. They trailed so many times, and late in games at that, and still found ways to win.
