Game 6. BoSox beat Reds on Carlton Fisk's bomb.

Most famous WS game ever?

Pete says it's the best game he ever played in.

Bill Buckner game?

That is a contender. May be the leader.

It was the best one I ever watched, even though I remember thinking that was it for my Redlegs at the time. But IMO, best ever.

In my lifetime, my top 5 WS games (in no particular order)

Game 6, 1975 - Reds vs. Red Sox (Fisk's homer)

Game 7, 2001 - Diamondbacks vs. Yankees (Arizona rallies against Rivera)

Game 7, 1991 - Twins vs. Braves (Morris pitches a gem)

Game 1, 1988 - Dodgers vs. A's (Gibson's home run)

Game 6, 1986 - Mets vs. Red Sox (Buckner's boot)

Who won that series? Great game, but it did nothing but prolong their misery.

The Reds won the seventh and deciding game of the series on a ninth-inning RBI single by Joe Morgan. The sixth game of the Series was a 12-inning classic at Boston's Fenway Park. While there are many memorable moments from that game (among them Red Sox pinch hitter Bernie Carbo hitting a game-tying home run in the eighth; Reds reliever Will McEnaney pitching out of a bases loaded, no out jam in the bottom of the ninth; and Boston's Dwight Evans making a spectacular eleventh-inning catch to rob Joe Morgan of a go-ahead home run), it is remembered in Boston for the walk-off home run hit in the bottom of the twelfth by Carlton Fisk. Fisk's home run gave the Sox a 7–6 win to send the series to a deciding seventh game, which the "Big Red Machine" won to clinch the first of back-to-back World Series championships.

It has to be right there, Bobby Thompson's shot was not a World Series Game. Don Larson's perfect game was before my time and television was in its infancy. Kirk Gibson and Joe Carter fall a little short to Fisk.

You mean when Cesar Geronimo caught that last out?

Greatest played World Series game ever IMO.

The Buckner game is remembered for a Wild Pitch and an error at First.

This game was great play, after great play that led to a winner.

These playoffs were the first playoffs I really remember following much. I've been a Reds fan ever since!

"We did not win the series. Baseball did." - Sparky Anderson. This was the game that saved Baseball according to Sports Illustrated.
