October 19, 201510 yr Don't think it's possible to play a worse 1st half than what we saw out of New England last night. Amendola and Edelman had 4-5 drops between them, including the gift INT TD for Adams. Much better showing in the second half, although the line play was still a bit concerning. So what in the hell was Pagano doing with that "punt" play at the end of the 3rd quarter? Colts have no idea how to defend against Blount. I'd give him 35 touches every time they played if I were Belichick. Win and move on to the next one. Time for 3 straight in Foxboro.
October 19, 201510 yr So what in the hell was Pagano doing with that "punt" play at the end of the 3rd quarter? Pure lunacy. :lol2:
October 19, 201510 yr Blount is a beast. Really need someone to trip up the Patriots a little so that the Bengals don't have to go to Foxborough for the AFC Title game. And yes, I know I'm putting the horse before the cart.
October 19, 201510 yr The punt thing was maybe the single dumbest play I've ever seen in my life in professional sports. Still wondering on how the onside kick in the first half was given to the Pats. If you review it, and obviously see that the Pats player never had control of the ball, and then see Moncrief emerge with the ball for the Colts, how do you rule Patriots' ball? I don't know. It was a big, big play...although I still think New England would have somehow found a way to win, even if the Colts were given possession, scored, and went up 21-10. By the way, Julian Edelman is easily on my top 5 list of guys that I would like to see get blasted (of course without any concussion issues) while going across the middle. He's a solid player, but I'm not a fan.
October 19, 201510 yr So what in the hell was Pagano doing with that "punt" play at the end of the 3rd quarter? My best guess is it was shaping up to be a close ending and he was hoping to get Hoodie to burn a timeout. To the Patriots credit they scrambled around and got organized and Belichick had the patience to let them.
October 19, 201510 yr Pagano said he was hoping either to catch them in a personnel change and get a 5-yard penalty due to 12 on the field OR them not line up correctly and get the first down. I have no issue with the thinking. The problem is SOMEONE has to call a timeout when it was obvious the Pats were going to shut it down.
October 19, 201510 yr By the way, when you have an owner and GM who are already thinking about firing you for anything short of a championship that trainwreck of a play only makes it easier.

That front office is one of the worst front office in the NFL. They are bailed out big time by Andrew Luck. Grigson and Irsay are awful. I would feel bad for Pagano if they weren't in the same division as the Jags.
October 19, 201510 yr I feel bad for Bengals fans. Any other year I feel they would be Super Bowl favorite. If they have to travel to Foxboro in the playoffs, I cant see a scenario in which they come out on top.
