October 20, 201510 yr Not in the least. Patriots played as poorly as possible for about 40 minutes last night. Still had the game in hand early in the 4th. You can't blow everyone out every game. NE fans don't dwell on the negatives and criticisms from game to game. We enjoy the win, then move on to the next one. On to the Jets...
October 20, 201510 yr I was very disappointed in Andrew Luck's performance last night. It is clear to me that he is not healthy. Instead of zipping throws to WR, he was trying to float them and use touch passes. His arm is not well, and it's showing. I cannot figure out Luck. It seems like people (fans and supposed experts) give him more slack than any other QB I have ever seen. He throws a lot of picks but none of them seem to be his fault. He made a lot of poor throws last night but everyone just says his shoulder must be bothering him. It just seems like people are scared to criticize Luck. He has a good RB, three decent WR's, and a very good TE so you cannot say he does not have weapons. It is a good thing they play in one of the worst divisions ever. I am beginning to think Luck may be overrated.

He was terrible last night and he rarely stepped into passes like most QB's. It appeared obvious to me that he was favoring his arm and was trying to throw more touch/finesse passes.
October 20, 201510 yr Some posters here seem to indicate that the Patriots cannot be beat. I believe its not that the Patriots are that good, but for the most part, the rest of the NFL is that bad. It seems most NFL games are lost, and not won. Teams just make so many mistakes and beat themselves. The Broncos at 6-0, with the lowest rated QB in the league, is a true barometer of where the AFC is right now. The Ravens had the blueprint for beating the Pats. Get physical with the receivers. Get in Brady's face, run the ball, and don't turn it over.
October 20, 201510 yr Griff Whelen (snapper on the trick play) says that once it became obvious the Pats were not fooled he was supposed to take a delay of game. For some reason, he didn't.
October 20, 201510 yr I'm trying to figure out how that play would fool anyone? The kicker was 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage and there were a bunch of guys lined up way right. With only a center to block, all you have to do is put two guys over the center and put everyone else over by the Colts guys lined up right. The QB for the play (not even a real QB) would never have any chance of doing anything with one small blocker. I don't see that play working against a grade school coach, let alone a guy who has coached in about 10 Super Bowls (including as an asst. coach). The more I think about it, the more I think Indy fans should be disgusted with Pagano to think he could fool Belichick in the first place with a grade school play.
October 20, 201510 yr Also, if they really practiced that play a long time (like the punter said) which is hard to believe because they screwed it up so bad, it is hard to believe an assistant coach or player somewhere along the way did not say "why are we wasting valuable practice time with this nonsense"???

This explains a bit of it. Puts more of the burden on Pagano's shoulders for calling it with a backup in there. Griff Whalen was never part of Colts? fake punt play in practice
October 21, 201510 yr I cannot figure out Luck. It seems like people (fans and supposed experts) give him more slack than any other QB I have ever seen. It is a good thing they play in one of the worst divisions ever. I am beginning to think Luck may be overrated. I could write a book on Andrew Luck. I think he is overrated. Luck is 17-2 (.894) in his division and 17-15 (.531) vs rest of NFL. If he wasn't in such an awful decision he would be seen as an above average starter. I think he is a franchise QB and has all the tools to take a team to a Super Bowl. Problem is when people put him in that elite category I don't think he is there. Then again I'm super biased against the Colts, so that's just my opinion.
October 21, 201510 yr The stupid part of the trick play was that the QB was under center. Who was that going trick? The only options he had were to run for his life or pass to the other side where the blockers were. It would have been a little more believable with the punter behind the center at least
