Q is likely the fastest football player in the state. There is no doubt in my mind that he is the fastest and best RB in the state. You guys can run the numbers all you want and scrutinise him all you want, but in the end, you will realize the kid is fast enough and has good enough vision to score anytime he touches the ball. I'm not being a homer, the kid is just that good.

He's been a wonderful player to watch grow up. I've seen him at every level and you knew he was special.

Also was MVP at that camp, was the fastest time ever recorded at that camp and he just turned 17 in July. Wait till he gets on a college weight program and a few years older.

Noah Frisby has extreme interest by Purdue at TE (will likely get offer this off season as he is just a Junior). Bryce Workman has several offers from NAIA schools, no D1 as of today. The King brothers have been offered by a few NAIA as well. The younger guys like Tyrese Allen will likely play NAIA to D1 as well.

 

JC isn't lacking for talent, just hoping they lack it tomorrow night trying to tackle Q.

No sir they are not. Not to mention this is the strongest team Jim Matney has ever had with 16 kids bench pressing over 300lbs (according the WYMT reports and Jim Matney himself). Does this mean JC will win? No. Both teams are talented and that is why tomorrow should be electric!

I am not a hater I just know how truth gets stretched 4.5 speed is fast especially for ky and his vision is not in question but I have watch some tape he doesn't always leave everyone in their shadows .Kids numbers speak for themselves and he looks like a good back .but the difference between 4.3 and 4.5 is huge and I just don't see it and I have seen legitimate 4.5 and it is fast most kids are 4.7-5.0 .so according to Ashland fans he will get faster what 4.1 don't put added pressure on this kid .he is good back leave it at that

So you are saying in your eyes he runs a 4.7-5.0? The funny thing is you say don't put added pressure on this kid. The Ashland fans are not putting any pressure on him. They just reported numbers from the camps he attended. If the camps timed him wrong, they timed him wrong. But in what way would that add pressure to the young man?

I think of the kid more of a Barry Sanders guy. But sometimes he looks like Tecmo Bo.

Rivalry games vs Raceland, Russell, Ironton, and Belfry are nice, but this is really the only game that matters for these two teams. With Highlands and CovCath gone, the stakes have never been higher for Ashland and JC than they are right now. They're both unbeaten and have been ranked in the top 4 all season. This is the most heavily hyped and anticipated game in this area in a long time. If it lives up to just half the hype, Putnam's in for a treat. Both of these teams have been rolling right along, unchallenged for weeks. I think that ends tonight.

 

To me, the biggest change in Ashland from last year to this year is their OL/DL. Last season they were an achilles heel, this year a strength. It seemed like Baker was constantly getting hit in the backfield in 2014, forced to make something out of nothing. This year, he's had room to breathe after taking the handoff.

 

Last year Ashland struggled to beat Raceland, lost to Russell, and got pounded by Ironton. This year... Raceland was crushed, Russell was destroyed, Ironton was humiliated. This team is on a mission.

 

If it sounds like I'm building Ashland up just so I can throw the old curve ball and pick JC to win.... you're right.

The 2015 version of the Ashland Tomcats is a far superior team to the one that took the field against JC last year. The thing is... the 2015 Golden Eagles are a superior team as well. Ashland put in a lot of hard work during the off-season. And it definitely shows. But, it's not like JC just sat around all winter and got fat/lazy. I'm afraid JC will make Ashland too one dimensional. It's an awesome dimension, but I think they'll need a lot more than just Q to get the win.
