You know they are just jealous of the wonderful Raceland Water. I heard they have been sneaking into town in the cover of the night, just to get a bucket full of Pond Run Creek nectar. Thats what this is all about, cant believe I didnt see it before.

The early years when they only played two, three or four games, some of which they didn't have an actual coach, I don't think those are commonly counted. I'm not sure on the number of actual losing season. But, it's safe to say it's not many in the last thirty years.

I'd say it's similar to Ashland in how they claim many state titles before there were even such a playoff system. My grandpa played for Ashland and the way he would reminisce about his football season made it seem like they made their schedule up as they went. Times were much different back then.

If you took the comments as an insult then you didn’t understand my point. NO coach will go somewhere where he doesn’t have things in place to have a shot to win on a consistent basis. Please name me the schools that consistently have a shot to win outside the 4-6 around here.

Predicting a blow out for next season already?! I believe the Rams lose 12 players off of a last place district team in a 3 team district. Should be a barn burner next year. If Salmons does leave, I hear McPeek is looking to come back to Eastern KY.

Reason being, you seem obsessed with the Rams. Thank you for the attention I guess but you sure have a helluva way to say it.

Now, should you be a West C. fan as your name and some post appear ... Congrats on the season that your Comets are having and you should be proud. I would advise that you not go picking on a school / team that has beaten West so many times through the years that quite frankly, it's boring.

Should you be a Fairview / school in Westwood, mossy bottom dweller then your team upset / beat Raceland this season and I am sure that you are happy about that. Look back at the overall series record between the Eagles and Rams, look at the numbers there. Now, consider the wins that Westwood has had "without" WVA players and controversy and the gap between the two is even wider, and don't even count the number of District titles the two have. Also, a few of the few district titles the school in Westwood has have been in controversy with a couple stripped by KHSAA Sanctions (and no, I am not trying to stir that up again - just stating facts.

 

So, be you the West Carter fan that you claim or a closet Eagle fan the story is the same .... Learn How to Act When You Win ! I realize that overall you don't have a lot of experience with winning but try, o.k. ? Might want to check programs like Ashland, Russell, Ironton, OH., Belfry and yes Raceland to see what it's like to have a tradition...... "act like you have done it before", whether you have or not.

I will end this battle of wits and winning now, it's with an unarmed opponent ....

It's hard to tell how accurate the records are from 70-80 years ago. Regardless of whether it's true or not, Raceland has been a model of consistency over the decades.

What I really hate about situations like this, over the years the Raceland fans on BGP have defended the team from West Carter and cheered for them on BGP because they had no, or very few, fans on here to sing their praises. For their trouble, the Ram Fans have to now be subjected to ridicule from fans of that team they cheered for.

 

Like they say, no good deed goes unpunished.

I am trying to not judge their school, fan base over one person.

 

I was a Raceland player. A three year starter. A four letter Letterman (when you had to actually play to letter). We rarely lost a game. Beat Ashland for the first time in school history. Won several District Championships. Beat a massive Pikeville team with D1 players that had won three State Championships. Beat every team in the area. And, I was an average football player. Almost all the players I ever played with were average football players.

 

I was an average football player, but I am a Raceland Ram.

 

If anyone wants to tear the Rams down to feel better about themselves, so be it, but quite honestly, we don't care what others have to say. Celebrate the times you beat us, because there will be those days that you don't.

 

If after 500 wins, 18 District Championships, 2 Regional Championships and 2 Semi-Final appearances, you don't respect the team Raceland puts on the field then you never will. And, that's ok, we have the respect of the people that matter, just like we respect the people that matter.

Now, as for the boded, yes - that is "Ram Pride", from the numbers to most of all the people, respect shown toward our program as well as the respect that we have shown others. As I tried to get across to our little friend cm .... Learn how to act when you win / "act like you've done it before". .....Ashland, Russell, Belfry, Ironton,, OH. all have winning traditions and "they act like it" ....

(btw Ram, are you sure it's just 18 district titles ? I was thinking it was more like 20, 21 or so....and those are excluding the district titles that Fairview had stripped, that Raceland was 2nd and it would have went the Rams. Should those be counted then there is a couple more)

Totally agree with you. Raceland has a fine program and some great people living in the area. I must say that people on preps for the Rams take it way to seriously and make it personal from many different angles. This is social media and I understand that we communicate thru it but I just feel many use it as a cowardly approach to say things. I would estimate almost 99% of the people that say negative things about players,coaches, fans, schools, etc. wouldn't say it face to face. I wish the Rams the best of luck in trying to figure out this season.

The thing I've said all year watching Raceland is they have no speed, and when they play against teams with some athletes could spell trouble. Single A is very weak and the state champion will be weak because even Beechwood isn't what they used to be as a program. KHSAA sure has watered down the masses in the football alignment in my opinion.

For some reason the link won't work. How many losing seasons does it say? I heard this a few years ago that the Rams only had 4 losing seasons. And the source is usually a credible source.
