They have basically, an open shot at the semis each year. Playing Pikeville or Hazard, most likely, in the semis. After this year, Paintsville, IMO, will be the only team to give the Rams possible trouble. But losing Kash is a big blow. They will still have Phelps and, from what I've heard, his younger brother is pretty good too. But they will also lose their line in the next two years. Fairview will be rough. Paris, Nocholas, and Bishop will all be okay programs, but I don't see them giving the Rams any fits in the playoffs.

 

Listen cometman, if you don't have high expectations for your team, what do you have? Hope? That sure isn't enough. I'm sorry, but West isn't going to Bowling Green anytime soon with their route. Not a knock on WC, I hope they prove me wrong, but my "expectations" for WC is to have a winning season each of the next four years. Will that happen? I guess that's a question for you to answer. I like Coach Brown and WC. Always play with pride and effort, but they're in a rough path to get to BG.

 

Expectations is what built the Ram program. It's how it is. Expectations don't build every program, but it built our, along with Ram Pride and tradition. It's how it is. I don't know how else to explain it unless you play for the Rams. It's a special place and no one will understand that unless you are a part of it.

Wouldn't make any sense for the Rams to move up if they can consistently win at 1A and they play the tough schedule they do. Besides their district schedule I don't believe they played a 1A team at all (maybe the Valley team had 1A enrollment but they would be the best 1A team in the state here) and they did pretty fine.

 

Rams would probably host a playoff game in the 3A district here though I do agree with that.

What planet are you on? 1A teams in this area are tougher than 2A, 3A, and 4A teams with the exception of Ashland and Johnson Central. And usually Raceland stays within striking distance of Ashland, not so much this year, but Raceland could've/should've won in 2013 and 2014.

I was considering making almost the same post, but I didn't want to go there. That being said it would be awesome for West Carter if Raceland played up in 2A. Raceland and Bath are all closer than West having to play all district games in Northern KY. I am not for sure how the State would divide up the districts.

 

Districts 1,2,4,5 could stay the same.

District 3 Stay the same just add Somerset

District 6 Holy Cross(Cov), Lloyd Memorial, Newport, Newport Cen. Cath., LCA, Danville

District 7 Bath, Prestonsburg, Raceland, West Carter

District 8 Allen Cen., Betsy Lane, East Ridge, Leslie County, Shelby Valley, Middlesboro

 

Raceland would most likely win this district every year just as they do now. But West would fair better than playing up in 3A as would Bath County as they do the same.

The Rams play two 1A teams all year: Fairview and Paintsville and that's because it's district play. Lucasville Valley is, I believe equivalent to a 2A team here. Very good team. Why would we move up if we continually win in 1A. However, we don't have any titles. I think before the Rams move up, we will have to win a plethora of titles, similar to Mayfield before we move up

Raceland has a chance to contend for state titles in 1A in the current alignment basically every year. Why give that up?

Exactly, but they're consistently winning district titles yes but in the other classes I don't think they would have a shot at the state title so why would they move up is all I am saying?

Little Ram says 1A programs are just "OK" in district and playoff games in Eastern KY. Easy route to the semis each year. Move up a class for the competition and test your program. They can handle it. Already play a good non district schedule.
