What planet are you on? 1A teams in this area are tougher than 2A, 3A, and 4A teams with the exception of Ashland and Johnson Central. And usually Raceland stays within striking distance of Ashland, not so much this year, but Raceland could've/should've won in 2013 and 2014.

You make it sound as if we schedule Middle school and JFL teams to play against.

I'm a big fan of coach Ray, We are in very capable hands.

Definitely be hard to replace Roy, I've watched him since his freshman year and he was good then. I'll have to say that he is the best QB in Eastern Kentucky and probably the Ashland-Huntington-Ironton Tri-state Area. With his size and overall abilities, he should be getting D1 offers.

 

I'm not sure if he's committed but last I heard he was leaning toward Western Kentucky.

I don't seem Raceland moving up anytime soon unless they're forced to by enrollment. 1A is a relatively small class anyways and will be losing a couple schools to consolidation in the next year or so anyways. The same as in any class the top of 1A can compete with just about anyone. Last year Pikeville beat 3A state champ belfry. The reality is that most teams in the state are week. In all classes there are maybe a handful of districts where every team is good. There are far more districts that every team is BAD.

I believe you are as well. Imo, he has his system, staff, and routine down now. The next step for him should be devoting as much time as he can to the youth and feeder programs. Run camps in the summer, bc after this years sr class, Fairview will be lean number wise, which could spell the end in the next few years if they dont come up with something to change that.

Not a team on that list that Raceland couldn't have won 7 out of 10 against over the last decade.

Tj Maynard's players? This isn't college Salmons has had a huge role in Racelands success over the years. He's gonna be at Raceland as long as he wants to be. There's no reason to call for Salmons head especially after one bad loss. Vanderhoof had a bad loss to LCA in 2008. Tj lost one to Pikeville in 2012. These things happen Raceland will bounce back and hopefully these kids use this as motivation in the playoffs.

 

In a way he's right I don't think he means talent wise TJ is a great coach and an awesome guy he brings out the best in his guys and helps others find that passion for the game I don't know if it is still this way or not but I know when Salmons first started coaching back at Raceland which if I recall right was around 07 or 08 there were a lot of kids who didn't like him or his ways but maybe he's change since then and if players don't like playing for a guy it doesn't matter how good they are it's hard to find that extra gear when they need it
