Taylor is a very good official.

Raceland will definitely have it's handful this week, and go in as a considerable underdog IMO, but that just may be what the Rams want and need. More often than not Raceland is the favorite when they play, and sometimes a team will go in thinking they can just show up, and come away with the win. I expect a much more motivated, and focused Ram team this week, and I expect they'll play their best game of the year. Raceland seems to rise to the occasion when a lot of people are counting them down and out. I still don't know if it will be enough, but I think this game will be closer than a lot of people expect.

There you are and as for your post .... O.K., if you say so. Ram made the statement and I 100% agree, we know who to respect and we do and as for anything else, we don't care about the haters. Everyone pretty much figures those out on their own with no much problem.

(and btw, before you say it. I did not say you were a hater .. so whether you be an actual Comet fan or a closet Fairview person, as you at times do seem to seem to sound like on post on their threads, maybe - maybe not but at any rate ... good luck )

 

Not a Fairview fan.....comet fan. In fact, I think what happened at Fairview by some adults was criminal and should be treated as such. I'm not for punishing kids for what the adults did and said was ok. I do not hate the Rams, their program, their fans, the town ,the field, the river, the trees........Some people just can't be objective or handle the truth about their team. The Bowling Green talk and the running clocks were just not reasonable. Lets review what I've said from opening day about the Rams.

1. The Rams have a rich football tradition and I wish the Comets had that.

2. This years Rams are not as good as last years team and will not make a deep playoff run because..........A. Lost to much skill due to graduation and could not replace it.....fact of life at small schools. B. Skill gives the Rams trouble, just can't match up. C. The O/D line is the strength of the team. D. No D-1 players (there are not many in Eastern Ky anyway) E. Kicking game is horrible (can't make a deep playoff run with this kicking game). F. Passing game is average AT BEST. G. Ram players seem to think they can turn "it" on and off each week.

 

Are these things not true? Has nothing to do with hate or the Comets winning a few games, just an objective assessment of a football team.......like it or not. BTW, I like how raider5 hides behind Ram Nation telling them to gang up on me. It's like a little brother hiding behind a big brother that can't fight his own fights. Hilarious!

I didn't hide behind the Ram nation you're the one who started all that. I never told them to gang up on you and I actually gave you advice not to keep doing what you were doing. Why would I hide from someone my team beats in the all time series in literally almost every sport?

I will respond with this and leave it at that as far as i am concerned. I hear what you are saying, I will go so far as to say, that from what I have seen up to this point, you may be right. BUT WAIT A MINUTE, skill, size, speed, football iq, experience, all that jazz, graduates from the halls of RWHS. Pride, Tradition, and GREAT EXPECTATIONS, will NEVER graduate. I dont care if we have a team full of Pips. It is that concept, that has given Raceland, it's credit through out the state. We have ONE state title, that is the Single A Track and Field Title, from 2003. We have ZERO title game apperances, hell we hadnt even won a football regional title until 2 years ago. Still, each and every year its the same deal. People seemingly want to beat us more than anyone on their schedule. Expectations are always...Win the district, win the region, make it to BG, bring home hardware. I dont give a rats behind in deepest Cave in Carter Co, that will NEVER change.

 

If the team that played Lucasville Valley ever shows back up and decides to stick around, you will see the Raceland Rams in Bowling Green. If they dont, i guess we just have to see how it all plays out.

Just want to give credit where credit is due. Abby Jones did win two individual state championships for Raceland last year in the pole vault and 100m dash.

At Raceland we take pride in the fact that we win with average, blue collar, players. You act like it's an insult, we look at it as a source of pride. Obviously, if I have to explain that, you wouldn't understand.

Messer was an exceptional athlete as was Tyler Boyles. They weren't average.

My point give your program some credit Ram, you are too worried about others apparently.

I was more so refering to football. I Forgot about Jones and Messer were both state champs in track and field. Pettery, Messer, Boyles, and Tolliver were all decade types of players. Wallace will be in due time, imo. We always have a tendancy to be the hardest on ourselves and be the last to give credit when its due, i will admit to that. But we are very quick to voice our displeasures lol

You can add Johanssen (though we only had him one year), Nevan Johnson, and Robbie Logan to that list as well. Grizzle was a few inches short of being a small D1 or D2 prospect. We have had some great players over the years.

If you ask me, the 2006, 2008, 2013, and 2014 teams were all very similar personnel wise. They all had their own standout athletes. But those athletes dos not make those teams make playoff runs. It was the other players, the non-standout athletes. It was Loren Huffman, Patrick Hamilton, Corey Baldridge, Cody Chinn, Cody Kelley, Timmy McCommas, Andrew Salyers, Austin Manis. These were ALL great athletes that helped the teams make a great playoff run. Some were below average, some were average and some were above average. That's what Raceland Football is about. Taking pride in what your team has. Taking that pride and kicking another teams butt come Friday night.

 

Raceland doesn't have any state titles, but I'm 100% sure that the Rams will be in Bowling Green in the next four years. It's a bold statement but it's what I expect. Not predict, expect.
