Fairview is a top ten 1A team that beat a top ten 1A team in the district known as the super district because of how it had all its teams in the top ten.

 

 

Fleming beating Russell was the biggest upset, Russell was supposed to coast to a district title after they beat your comets and now have a chance in the end of not hosting but one playoff game at home. Both are big upsets but the Fleming one trumps the Fairview one. Fairview offense is explosive

With the way we have been this year, a 1 or 2 seed is not out of the question if our season's history tells us anything. We come out flat one week, then play like the world is on fire the next. This makes me feel like we will play better football next week and have a shot to beat Paintsville. Not saying we will, just saying I expect us to look like a totally different team next week. We rushed for over 300 and threw for over 100 yards, over 400 yards of offense, problem is, Fairview did as well and held a higher redzone production percentage. Idk what the answer is to our redzone issues. We had two trips get denied. Score 1/2 there and we win the ball game. I just dont get how how you can avg 8 or 9 yards a carry between the 20s and not be able to find the endzone from there.

Will opinions change when Raceland beats Russell?

Fairview is a lineman or two away from being in the conversation as a title contender. At this level though thats usually the biggest difference. The Roy kid is a rare commodity at qb that always gives you a chance no matter how much duress he is under.

Shocker!!! Outside of Ashland think everyone pretty even and if you don't come to play you will lose. Congrats to the WOOD. Raceland may have been over confident and looking ahead. Rams just not good enough to do either of those and one kid (Messer) HUGE hole still not filled.

The messer kid was the type of kid that you just cant replace. My junior year of HS we had several joint track practices ( @ Russell) because neither school had a pole vault pit at the time, I think he was in the 8th grade and had never pole vaulted before so I was trying to teach him how some and I think after two day he was as good as me and was beating me by the next year. Just a phenomenal athlete.

He scored 5 TDs rushing, 5 Passing and 10 recieving. 101 touches and 20 TDs. That's a TD for ever 5 touches. That is a huge loss. BUT, replacing Messer hasnt been the issue. Replacing the secondary, seeming lack of leadership, and just plain playing flat and emotionless at times is. Fairview went up 12-0 and we looked whipped. Had we scored on our first possesion, like we have done for the most part this year, its a different ball game. Idk how hard it is to get pumped up for Fairview. THAT imo is our biggest issue. Not much fire in their bellies.

Who does Ranceland have on their team that scores every 5 touches this year?

I think the Messer factor was much more than touches. Teams gameplanned against him, because well like you said he scored once every 5 touches.

 

Also defensively the kid was great. He is a huge loss, Rams do miss him but you can't fill those shoes with just one guy they need everyone else to.

Different style team this year. Mainly ground and pound and that was effective against Fairview but the defense of line let up and we missed a couple of guys due to injury and not being 100%. Fairview has beat us straight up they were the better team last night. Why in the name of Vince Lombardi do you keep bringing the stuff up? The comets had their shot , gave us a scare but we managed to put them away holding Braeho gave us a scare but we managed to put them away holding Brown to -4 yards in the second half. I appreciate anyone's input on here, but can we find another dead horse to kick?

I think in 2016 its a 3 team race in the east. Pikeville, Hazard, and Raceland. Hazard will be young still but a year under there belts and several players back will have them hungry.
