First Democrat Debate

Featured Replies

Dude it takes a quick Google to figure out that the wealthy are way on top. :walk:

What do you suggest to correct whatever you feel needs corrected? I still do not understand the silly notion that Capitalism is a zero sum game.

Country has changed because we have an economy that caters to a minute percentage of wealthy billionaires.

Sorry you don't see that, or you're a billionaire who likes it as it is.

So, why is Obama catering to these billionaires?

Not saying I entirely disagree, but I would like to hear your explanation on this one.

I watched an hour of the clown show that was the first Republican debate. Didn't catch any of this one. Did hear some of the talking heads (e.g. Krauthammer) saying that the Dems' apparent strategy of not slinging mud at one another was probably wise.

I watched a few minutes of the Dem "debate," but I got bored so I turned it off and went to go watch paint dry.

So you needed Google to figure that out ? Does 1000's of years of history not show you that society's are always going to have poor people ? Of course we should take care of the poor but this disdain for achievers is just ugly . Quit hating on the rich , they pay far more than their " fair share" . signed middle class guy who has never made 6 figures .

Let's start with the fact the Dems have been in charge the last 8 years. Let's continue with Obamas liberal use of executive orders. Going on, every regulation put in place backfires because it's only big business that can afford to keep up with the cost of regulation and compliance putting the little guy out of business. But it's the republicans fault. Now, we're going to create new entitlement programs. Where are we going to get the money? We are already trillions in debt but their solution is spend more, tax more. This is the Enron theory. Keep doubling down until you get you money back. This flawed and will fail. Why? Because history and basic economic theory tells us it will. But go ahead. Continue on.

No they want to patronize everybody who attended or tuned in. That's what I got out of it. Debates are dog and pony shows, what they say and what they do are complete opposites. But apparently there a a ton of us that are gullible. Hey, didn't I say I needed to stay out of these threads? Can't help myself. :lol2:

So we should pay income tax based on net worth ? Buffet paid 30-31 % of his income to the Govt . I'm good with that .

Just a GUESS , a guess , but maybe the income inequality is growing because millions are fed up working, to have the govt allow their neighbor to live just as well off govt freebies as low middle class people do working ? So they quit work and go on the dole . Result -- those willing to bust it ( and take risk) grow richer and the lower middle class gets more poor . Or we could just say its Warren Buffet's fault people are more poor today than a decade ago .

Are you kidding? You guys really believe we are getting a fair shake and I'm just millionaire hating? TBH I think our current President has stood by and let it get worse, but I sure hope this is on our next president's radar.

So, if another Dem wins, you think they're going to do anything about it?

Not sure, but I appreciate politicians who don't ignore the issue.

"The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax deduction. Tax them too much...and they may just not show up anymore."

So if the system is not in your favor you leave? No problem with that.
