First Democrat Debate

Featured Replies

Interesting how Webb took the opposite of most D's stance on gun control.

I liked Webb when he was Governor of VA. If I were a Dem, that is who I would vote for.

The beauty of this country is that someone with as little notoriety and as little chance of getting 1% of the vote can be a participant.

See Jim Webb.

I feel the desperation in our liberals' posts. They're beginning to see what the republicans and independents have been seeing for a while.

You must not have watched the debate. Substantive, spirited, and quite the contrast to the comic lunacy on the other side. Hillary and Bernie turned in strong performances and O'Malley proved to be very capable as well. The other side has become a total embarrassment . There's still time to switch your registration to Democrat before the primary season begins. Both Democrat and Republican political pundits alike remarked about how well that debate went, as opposed to thoe so-called debates on the GOP side. Carnival barker Trump and cartoon characters like Carson, (Fired)orina, and the Rowan Co showmen, Huckabee and Cruz sure make the Democrats look all the more presidential. Great time to be a Democrat!

Not much to handicap. Clinton is going to win.

Bernie is interesting as a "blow the system up" type of candidate. (Jim Webb also made the obvious point when he countered that there wasn't going to be a voting revolution and Congress wasn't going to pay for any of it). I can see some of his appeal when he makes his oligarchy v. democracy argument, but he wasn't compelling when talking about the other issues. But I can at least appreciate someone who isn't toeing the line.

Of the remaining three Jim Webb stands out a little more than the others but they don't stand a chance. Martin O'Malley could put me to sleep. He needs to be added to one of those insomnia playlists. You could choose between "Gentle Rain," "Rolling Waves," "Nature Sounds," and "Martin O'Malley."

Lastly, CNN is awful. Cartoonishly bad.

He had a very tough night in my opinion and in the opinions of most.

I'll just say this before I leave this thread to those who follow the party of hate.

Joke all you want, but the republican candidates should be very worried, heck it goes beyond that, as there may be no hope for a republican candidate. A candidate for the speaker of the house admits that the "committee" is a political witch hunt. Then one of the lead investigators was fired for attempting to keep the committee on track to find answers on how to make sure Bengazi doesn't happen again, but he saw that the committee left what the purpose was and went right after what they see as a political threat.

Thank you Donald Trump, you brought out the worse of the Republican Party and agenda. ;)

Sorry, I had to stop reading after your first sentence. Not worth anyone's time even engaging you in a discussion.

I thought Jim Webb and Lincoln Chaffee were having a contest to see which one could make Hillary look the most appealing.

Ben Carson is the" put you to sleep" guy.

The cynic in me thinks that's why they are up there in the first place.

Chafee gave the worst debate response I've ever heard about his vote on Glass-Steagall. That's after watching a debate with Donald Trump involved.

:lol2: The only defense of that is if it is the truth, but even then there's a better way of saying it that doesn't make you sound like an idiot.

You mean putting a bunch of boring guys , no minority candidates, with no real accomplishments outside of Webb on stage wasn't to just pull out the red carpet for Hillary?

It's almost comical after all the talk of the big party tent that is the field Democrats have to choose from in 2016.

Keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better.

Once again, support for my statement.

If Hillary were not a candidate for President, would there still be an investigation of her emails? This will be dropped immediately after the election. Your tax dollars at work!

False. The only reason you hear about the emails is it makes good press. They are conducting the investigation in private, very few leaks coming out. It is bi-partisan. Mainly interviewing folks about, surprise, Benghazi, not her server or emails. The emails and server are an ancillary piece to getting to the bottom of what happened.
