Looking at just this season...top 5

Featured Replies

Looking at just this season's performances who would be your top 5 teams in college football.

I was watching a college football program this morning and each panelist gave their top 4 and it was surprising as to who was and wasn't included...

Current undefeated teams

Clemson

Florida St

Baylor

TCU

Oklahoma St

Michigan St

Ohio St

Iowa

Toledo

Utah

Florida

LSU

Texas A&M

Temple

Memphis

Houston

Top 1 Loss Teams

Duke

Oklahoma

Michigan

Northwestern

Boise St

Notre Dame

Stanford

Cal

Alabama

Ole Miss

So if you had been on Mars with Mark Watney and knew nothing about last year or preseason ranking and all you knew about college football was what you had seen this year...who would be your top 5 teams right now?

Baylor - scoring 60 points a game

Utah - one of just 2 teams with a 2-0 record against ranked opponents this season

Michigan - only given up 38 pts this season, only loss is to a ranked team 1st game of the season

LSU - 2 words Leonard Fournette

Utah

Baylor

Ohio State

LSU

Michigan

Ohio State may not have been the most impressive every week, but I think they'd still be worthy of a top 5 ranking.

Utah has the best resume of any team. Michigan's loss to them doesn't look bad now and I'm not convinced Michigan might not be playing better ball than any team right now.

Sounds like the same OSU as last year at this point, weird.

1. LSU

2. Baylor

3. TCU

4. Michigan

5. Florida

This. Although I could be talked into TCU over Michigan or Ohio State. I think Utah, Baylor and LSU are locks for Top 5 status as of today.

1. LSU

2. Utah

3. Baylor

4. TCU

5. Michigan (bit of a homer pick, but they're just throttling everyone right now)

Ohio State, Alabama, and Clemson on the outside looking in.

Yep, They will be fine. Both qb's looked good. Jones was hitting his receivers better, in stride and not under throwing. Barrett, I was glad that he got in and talk about contributing .....3 rush td's, ran the team excellent in the red zone. Personally, I think that Urban will work him in other areas as well. Zeek with another 100+ yds., it's has become automatic.

My top 5 "right now" .......

1. Clemson (solid in every facet of the game)

2. Ohio State (looked much better offensively, imo about to put it all together)

3. Baylor (they score 2 td's in the coin flip before k/o!!)

4. Alabama (best defense in the country, imo)

5. LSU (solid in all areas, best rb in ncaa)

(1 and 2 interchangeable)

Next 5, in no certain order - Florida, TCU, Utah, Michigan, Michigan St.

(team to watch - OK. State)

I will go with this, and mine is based on both right now and how I think it ends

Clemson-Dabo Sweeney can still blow it

Ohio State

Alabama

Baylor

LSU/Florida

Winner this weekend gets the 5 spot. LSU has played nobody, their QB is awful and it will eventually cost them IMO. When they play a team that can physically match up, going to have to do something other than hand it to 7. Same thing with Michigan. Cmon, they beat Northwestern in the first meaningful game in the big house since Carr left. Still have an anemic offense, take away their TE dump off and you eliminate their passing game. Hesitant to put Baylor up there, but TCU seems to be struggling.

Now with Grier out for Florida, I think Florida will be taken out of my top 5. Lol

Still blows me away that Duke is relevant in college football.

Are they, or are they just a bi-product of a really bad ACC? I'm not sure, but I guess having a shot at playing in ACC champ game does make you somewhat relevant

Baylor

Clemson

Alabama

Michigan

Notre Dame
