Even though I'm a homer, but I am also a realist. Boyle Co is just in a different level this season. With all that said, the only thing that Lex Cath has going for them is that it's a rivalry game and Lex Cath can get a little motivated with the mindset of taking 6 of last 7. Oh BTW all you homer making statement about running clock or plus 21pts, Really? When was the last time or many times in this rivalry game that the points difference of the winning team was anymore than 10 pts? Not recently....

 

For the record only one Boyle fan has said it will be a running clock. All of the rest of the known Boyle County fans have said it will be close like always.

Yes. I knew he played WR and DB as a freshman for varsity. I assumed he was the freshman QB but he wasn't. That's what I didn't know. Josiah is a legend around these parts. He led the varsity baseball team in batting average. As an 8th grader. He was an impactful two way player on the varsity football team as a freshman and he played quality minutes on the varsity basketball team as a freshman as well. Josiah has been doing his thing around here for quite some time.

My thoughts so far.

 

Boyle is at the exact same point they were last year. Undefeated heading into the LexCath regular season game. Boyle lost in the regular season. Boyle lost in the Regional Final. Finished the year 11-2. Any other school that would be a successful season. Not at Boyle. I think Boyles season starts Friday night knowing LexCath must be beat twice in order to get to the prize.

 

This will be a great nail biter of a game. To date, Boyle has exceeded expectations and LexCath has failed to meet expectations. None of this means a thing come kickoff Friday at Rebel Field. This will be a 4 quarter battle that will determine where the war (Regional Final) will be played.

Lexington has shown potential, but not as consistently as Boyle. If they can keep it close they may have a chance but if Boyle gets big momentum they could run away with it.

I don't look for a blowout in this one at all. I think it will be a typical LC game. Played hard. Close to the vest. Big plays all around.

 

While Boyle is the favorite based on play this season, I have no doubt that the Knights have no fear in them for Boyle, having only lost once to them in the last 4 years. Should be the game of CKY Friday night.

I think you see LexCath put their best foot forward.

 

I kind of get the sense maybe the Knights have been sandbagging a little, and Boyle has just been rolling against teams that have proven not to be to their level.

 

I think LexCath might be able to make it interesting as a result. First time Boyle will see a team who can actually match up in certain aspects. With that said, once Boyle calibrate themselves to the speed of the game and make adjustments I think they pull away.
