This is the worst Cubs team we will see in the next 3-5 years...

Same was said about the Nationals. Same could of been said about the Reds in 2010, 2012. It's a difficult game.

I love the arrogance of the Card fans I know. None say they are the slightest bit worried.

I am. Have to win in St. Louis. I want nothing to do with Arrieta in Wrigley.

You've been losing for over a hundred years.

We will see if this year's iteration of "Tinker to Evers to Chance" are truly fleeter than birds. (But I'm not betting that way)

Nor should they be. And I'd say that regardless of who they were playing. From pretty much day one of the season they've been the best team in baseball. No reason to think they can't win 3 of 5 against a team who's ace is only able to go 1 time.

Cubs win series 3-1, they will manage to take one in St. Louis, I really beleive they struggle against left handed pitching, however the Birds are really tough at home, especially in the playoffs, that place will be rocking. I picked the Dodgers to be in the world series, it wouldnt surprise me to see any of them make it. Playing in that (1) game wildcard in Pittsburgh where there was 40,000 screaming fans like that was impressive.

I love it. We're playing with house money this year. We're the hottest team right now and it's been proven time and time again that it's better to get hot at the end as opposed to the beginning of the year. I hope the Cards think they'll coast...

Raise your hand if you were surprised that the Pirates took offense to a couple inadvertent HBP. The Cubs used to be among my most despised teams in pro sports, but I found myself cheering for them last night, and I will be cheering for them in the next round.

I didn't have a problem with the Bucs plunking him in the hip. No harm. Just letting him know that high and inside to the catcher isn't appreciated. It's how it should be handled.

There's nothing the Cubs can do to get out from under being my most despised team. Even playing against the Cards.

I hope and fully expect they will collapse in humiliating fashion.

Because we aren't worried.

While it's cliche to say "game 1 is really important" it's REALLY true for the Cubs. Lester has not had much success against the Cards this year. A W would be huge for the Cubs.

Hey, I know this has nothing to do with this thread but this guy could play George Harrison in a movie:

I would maybe consider this as a part of the game if (1) the Pirates haven't had a track record going back multiple seasons of taking offense with multiple teams to a normal part of the game, (2) this wasn't the playoffs, (3) they didn't make a warning necessary after a curveball hit a Pirate, and (4) they didn't find it necessary to put a runner on base late in the game down 4 runs.
