Question, Is it legal to practice in full pads during June or any time before July 15th? Even if you did not have a spring practice?

Never heard that rule before. I know you can attend college camps that are full pads, but never heard of a rule that permits a high school team to practice before July 15 with anything but helmet and shoulder pads.

No full pads practice until August 1 or if your school is on a year round calendar you can start about 7 days prior to that.

As far as I know all schools will have a single insurance policy that covers an entire year for "their" students. Now if you conduct a grade school camp or something like that you would need to purchase additional insurance for the kids that do not attend that school.

 

Now as far as being in full pads right now I'm pretty sure your not allowed to be.

You are not allowed to be in full pads now and there is no catastrophic insurance in place until after the dead period. If your team is in full pads now, you better tell your coach to discreetly check with the KHSAA asap.

In Kentucky, not right now, that's for sure.

How many teams actually wear there shoulder pads right now? Because if you wear your shoulder pads it's kind of hard to have a non-contact practice.

Everyone keep their feet, no contact below the waist, but let's get a good pop, some engagement, etc.

KHSAA Bylaws State Helmet Only until July 15. Then Helmet and Shoulderpads only, but no contact.

 

That is pretty black and white. Not much Grey area.
