September 27, 201510 yr 1st down play calling was improved. Most first down plays when in 'striking distance' were to get 6 or 7 yards (and most did) and not 6 or 7 points every time like it seemed last week. Congrats to UK fans and Towles. He is a fighter.

September 27, 201510 yr Where is all the Towles haters at tonight? I can only speak for myself but as for me, I was a "criticizing" in the last two weeks, not "hating" ... Big difference. Anyway, he did obviously have a far better game in this one. Inconsistency, imo is the key word with Towles.

Hope he doesn't get discouraged. They need him. Stoops is probably just sending him a message that blocking is an important aspect of the game, too.

September 27, 201510 yr Field position killed them tonight and they were still able to overcome. I counted at least 4 possessions that started inside the 10, two of those were inside the 5. This is going to sound like a Spurrier quote, but I mean this with great admiration & envy: Missouri had one heck of a punter.

September 27, 201510 yr Boom may be frustrated but bad attitude will keep you on the sidelines. W is all that matters. The reason Boom sat was because only having 21 yds on 7 carries. When your other back is avg 5 yards a pop you stick with it and that is what won the game.
September 27, 201510 yr Shannon Dawson's playcalling though is still a massive worry to me. He seems to get rather timid in the 2nd half. I think he needs to start getting a bit more aggressive especially on 1st down. I wonder how much Stoops has to do with that? He isn't shy about getting rid of OCs

September 27, 201510 yr Dawson is not going anywhere. Young sharp OC will only get better, IMO. I agree. Dawson appears to be having a few "growing pains", but will reduce those week by week.

September 28, 201510 yr I agree. Dawson appears to be having a few "growing pains", but will reduce those week by week. It's hard to remember that he's only been the OC for this team a few games. There's bound to be some growing pains during that time period. I'm saying that as someone who's questioned both play calling and execution a good bit this far.
