A... long road trip for a mid-season game

 

This is a Friday night game, correct? I'm a little surprised it isn't being played on Saturday. That's a long way to travel for Mayfield.

Corbin is really battling the injury bug right now and were missing 5 starters again last Friday night, doubtful that any of the 5 will play this week either. I'm not sure what the status is going forward for a couple of other kids who got banged up against Southwestern either. They have a large roster, but are having to play a lot of freshman and sophomores. What they really need right now if a bye or a cupcake. That may not bode well against a team like Mayfield.

After watching Corbin, I think the Brightless Cards will still have enough to win by a comfortable margin in the 2-3 TD range

Yep, on both accounts. I'll drive almost anywhere to watch, especially early in the season when I'm just ready to watch football, and again in the playoffs when it matters. However, this is a tough call... midway through the season with a good, but probably not great ballgame.

Even without Bright, Mayfield should be able to win this one by a comfortable margin of 2-3 TD's

 

Corbin is a borderline Top 10 team in 3A right now and a team that Danville handled easily.

I'm interested to see the outcome of this game. I wish Mayfield was at full strength, it might give me an idea of where Danville stands right now. My feeling is Mayfield will dominate this game early on.

So what happened to Bright?

I believe they called it a dislocated elbow, but, I'm not 100% on that.. Looks like he'll miss the next 4 weeks or so, maybe more, but, he'll be back before the playoffs and maybe by the Caldwell game.

So what happened to Bright?

 

He felt that the coaches were using him a little to much and decided to take a few weeks off and head down to Florida for a little R & R. No worries though colt, he will be back in time to collect the hardware
