What happens after Johnson graduates this year? He is a mighty fine player; QB' date=' K, P.[/quote']

Right now he is committed to Louisville as a K/P

DeSales will be just fine. That Fern Creek team is pretty good. They reminded me of those Central teams a few years ago. Athletes all over the field. I can see them making a good run in 5a.

I'm even more convinced now that we can contend for the trophy again this year. We won't face another team, as athletic as Fern Creek.

Not so sure about that

Snake, I know we kid a lot back and forth. But you guys don't have Fern Creek numbers. Fern Creek against Mayfield, I'd take Fern Creek everyday. That is a solid football team. I've seen Pulaski play this year, and Fern Creek has the horses to beat them.

THIS, is what's SO FUN about the Desales v Mayfield potential upcoming battle!

First, both teams have terrific history/programs/etc and their teams this year are maybe not the absolute best they've ever had, but they are really good. The matchup is like putting the Christmas present you've wanted since last Christmas in a big shiny box with a bow at the top of the closet and you can't reach it yet.

And finally, I bet there is not ONE Mayfield or Desales fan that has seen the other play this year. With that said, they defend their teams with honor and good honest/fun jabbing.

THIS is the ONLY game I am considering to bypass my Purples for to see in the playoffs. BOY what a game it would be! I call it DEAD EVEN with the slight edge to Mayfield as it would be played in Mayfield.

Before the DeSales/Fern Creek game, my thoughts were Fern Creek was a slightly better Graves County.I thought DeSales would roll. I think the Louisville people under estimate teams from the west. The NKY group does that too. Mayfield has made big time believers out of some of them. With that being said, I don't underestimate DeSales and think you would more than have your hands full if these teams were too meet.

Like he said I find it hard to believe we will play a team with that many athletes. I will tell you after the Corbin game---road trip. How many games have you seen DeSales play? Fern Creek? Exactly.

Many disagree with me but as I said in other posts. I know this team like the back of my hand and was highly disappointed with what I wached last night. It was like they were a completely different team than what we have watched. It definetly reminded me of the CAL game last year. As for me saying no motivation no effort, please tell me where you saw this? Side line was dead all night, no one was excited on the field, even the fans were dead. It was like the whole community was in a haze. The only player i myself heard have any heart was an injured Austin johnson. Love my colts and believe we'll be fine but as of right now we aren't and this team needs to find themselves.

I hope this show down happens. I am very confident Mayfield will dominate and open some eyes. Snake you guys have kept the mojo going for dedcades not just a few years. you guys have been one of the more impressive programs thru the years.:thumb:

I've seen lots of teams with great athletes but sometimes they weren't a good football team just team with lots of good athletes.

How about the defense that played their tails off. Like #3 #35 #9 just to mention a few.

Bad word

There were several players dinged up last night, they just don't have it put in the paper. Several of them just sucked it up just like Austin. So don't say they did not give effort because quite a few did.

I watched some highlights of the Fern Creek/Manual game and those guys had athletes comparable to Manuals. Personally, wouldn't surprise me to see Fern Creek win 5a this year. The only thing about them, they aren't real big in the trenches and teams like BG and Pulaski could exploit that, but, other than that, they have equal if not better skill players. Actually, FC and Mayfield have very similar teams. They both possess a lot of athletes, speed and skill guys, but, lack a little size in the trenches. Both have solid defenses. I'd give FC the depth and size advantage and Mayfield the advantage in the kicking and passing game.

I will stand by what I said. Defense was stout will give them that. No effort see by me.
