Fern Creek 14 DeSales 0

Featured Replies

Only thing I would add is that DeSales was without a starting running back and, more importantly, Austin Johnson hurt his leg (hamstring?) on the first series and limped noticeably for three quarters before being taken out. Without him in the running game, we went nowhere. Fern Creek will most definitely make some noise in 5-A. Nice call Ram. I disagree entirely with Colt Football on the no motivation or effort. We were just beaten by a really good football team tonight. Same thing happened last year when CAL blanked us 17-0. No sweat. We'll be back.

I could be wrong but I thought I read in another thread from one of y'alls posters how deep y'all were. Did one or two players being injured make that big of a difference?

Congrats to Fern Creek, it is great to see someone new in the mix.

For DeSales, be thankful you had this game on the schedule, now you know what you need to work on to beat Mayfield.

Great question. The RB wasn't that influential, but everyone knows if Johnson goes down, the team is probably no longer a contender. Everywhere else we're deep, and we have serviceable backup QBs, but he's exceptional.

What happens after Johnson graduates this year? He is a mighty fine player; QB, K, P.

We'll cross that bridge when we come to it..... :-)

Congrats to Pete W and Fern Creek! Going to be a fun season! You are the new 5A John Hardin!

Hmm, little surprised here.

Looks to me that 5a should be looking low on the radar!

I totally DISAGREE COLTFOOTBALL! Just remember, the schedule is a LOT bETTER than when you played teams like Thomas Nelson. Defense is tough, Johnson got hurt and our very good running back was suspended. Frustrating night for all, but don't say they did not give effort.
