September 14, 201511 yr Wings on the front windows of a car. Dim switches in the floorboard. Popcorn in the cardboard megaphones at Reds games. Vertical knobs on the TV set. After turning the TV off the little white light got smaller until the screen was black.
September 14, 201511 yr Remember when the Reds would play a doubleheader out on the West Coast and you'd take your transistor to bed with you until the second game wrapped up at about 3 in the am?

After turning the TV off the little white light got smaller until the screen was black. Loved the "cozy wing"! Really liked the dimmer switch on floorboard. Of course I would rather have the warm peanuts from Peanut Jim than popcorn (Crosley Field) And yes, remember the knobs on TV and the dot that got smaller when you had to actually get out of your chair to turn off the TV. Plus, remember when you had to adjust the "ears" on darn near every channel?
September 14, 201511 yr Remember when Democrats and Republicans actually worked together for the common good? (Nah... me neither)
September 14, 201511 yr Remember when Democrats and Republicans actually worked together for the common good? (Nah... me neither) Ahhh, lets keep politics out of this one. I'm having fun remembering.
September 14, 201511 yr I remember when only "trashy" girls gave oral sex. Oh my... So you saying some things do change for the better? Along similar lines...remember when Miley was just Hanna?
September 14, 201511 yr Remember when you could get a sack of donuts for a buck( at an actually town bakery)?
September 14, 201511 yr Remember when relief pitchers would throw three innings in the first game of a doubleheader and come back for two more in the nightcap?
September 14, 201511 yr I forgot one... Remember when cell phone plans came with a certain number of "anytime" minutes and "nights/weekends". You'd have to wait until at least 7pm (or more likely 9pm) during the week, to get the call for "free". Remember when just about every phone was a Nokia, except for the business man on the go that needed that Blackberry that doubled as an organizer.
September 14, 201511 yr Remember when your car phone was as big as your arm and a computer wouldn't fit in your living room?

After turning the TV off the little white light got smaller until the screen was black. Classic running joke from when the first models started coming in with dimmer switches on the turn signal was how much of an increase in car accidents were occurring among new car drivers in Indiana. Kept wrecking because they were having trouble getting their foot up to the steering column to dim the lights.
September 14, 201511 yr Remember when you could talk on a payphone for a LLLLOOONNNGGG time for just a dime? And you could sit down in some of those phone booths? Remember when there was a Burger QUEEN? Remember when bell-bottoms were thought of as a safety hazard in school? And the back of your hair could not touch the collar of your shirt? Remember when you carried a "gym bag" along with your books. Heck, remember "gym clothes" that everybody had to wear? Remember when paying with cash was the norm and credit cards were kind of rare? Remember when you could "run faster and jump higher" in PF Flyers? Or was that Red Ball Jets? Don't tell half the folks that frequent the Kim Davis thread.
