James "Beetle" Bolden Tears ACL

Featured Replies

If James is patient and looks long-term he'll be fine. Five years on campus will benefit him in many ways.

I hate to hear this. First Aric Holman is out and now Beetle. I hope they both have a speedy recovery.

I was thinking the same, too. It's hard to say that someone may benefit from an injury like this, but assuming surgery/rehab goes well, Beetle may benefit from a redshirt year.

Mike Listerman told me that James has really benefitted from the combo of the meals for athletes and the strength coach. Says he has really gotten stronger.

Really hate to hear this. I know Beetle has put in serious work this off season to completely transform his body. Not many kids out there putting in more work than him to get better. Worst part? Such a great kid off the court.

Was just talking to him a few days ago and he was telling me how much he was looking forward to getting the season started. Definitely sending prayers his way for a speedy recovery.

Hate to hear this. Hope for a full and speedy recovery so he can return even stronger next season. Thoughts and prayers.

Maybe he'll bulk up just a tad between rehab.

Already has.

Monday, James "Beetle" Bolden will miss the entire season due to a torn ACL and sprained MCL. The true freshman point guard was expected to get some reserve point guard minutes this season. Bob Huggins said the initial plan was for Bolden to redshirt, but with his impressive play this summer that idea had been shelved and Bolden was ready to help the team. In an interview with Sportsline on Monday, Huggins told Tony Caridi that Bolden had been the team's most consistent outside shooter.

Really hate this for him as he has improved so much. Glad it happened his frosh year instead of senior year.

Makes me sick when a kid gets hurt.

Just seen a video on Facebook of Beetle shooting 3s he looks like he is almost ready to come back.

Good to hear!
