I understand completely. Trinity is always better in the postseason and I suspect this year will be no different. Male has been very good lately but haven't been able to clear the final hurdle (Scott County in '13, Trinity in '14). Maybe this is the year they do it. Either way, I look for a big time rematch the third Friday in November.

By the hammer of thor!! Never expected this outcome. Have to say, the St X, Trinity, Male teams are always something else to watch. Especially coming from NEKY, watching those teams in the finals, especially the game with Bush/Brohm, are some of my favorite memories of football. Congrats to Male. How long has it been since T, Highlands, and Cov Cath have all lost to so many public schools in one season?

I dunno about Highlands or CovCath but Trinity has only lost to one school and given that it's Male that should surprise nobody.

 

The margin of victory, however, did surprise me. This team has plenty of potential and ability to play with anyone then they went and played absolutely awful football last night. No excuse for it. Male, despite several penalties, had their number the whole game.

 

The Rocks need to whip themselves into shape by the time the play-offs roll around or we're going to see a repeat of this.

That's why I didn't do too much talking pre game.

 

I want to add that the majority of the Trinity fans are sore losers. It's not normal for them to lose but when they do...

 

Please explain Ham Bone. I'm a Trinity fan and spent the whole evening around Trinity people. I didn't see any sign of a 'Sore Loser' but may have missed something. I do think it is a poor choice of words when you say majority of the fans...I would say 3,000 T fans in the stadium so you have a good feel that MAJORITY of them are sore losers....got it. I didn't see one person acting that way - as a matter of fact, I didn't see anything but respect for Male.

 

It was a great game, very chippy on both sides but Male deserves all the credit for execution and congrats on the win. Outplayed the Rocks in every facet of the game. Rocks had 35 total yards in 2nd half and 1 first down. Offense never gave the defense a chance. First 2 Male TD'S accumulated about 35 total yards of offense. Back to work today for Rocks...look in the mirror...gut check time.

I would wager that was definitely the case.

Before I say what I'm going to say let me say state unequivocally:

TRINITY DID NOT LOSE THE GAME BECAUSE OF THE OFFICIATING.

Having said that let me repeat what I said in the game thread, the officials were in over their heads. They just flat couldn't keep up with the speed of the game. 2 times they threw flags from a distance because they couldn't keep up with the play only to pick them up. And I would love to see video of the 3rd Male score. I was lucky enough to be at field level and the kid clearly touched his elbow and knee to the ground as his butt rolled over a tackler. IMHO he was clearly down but to his credit he played to the whistle, the Trinity kids didn't.

Majority may be hyperbole. Trinity has been so successful that the fans are delusional at times but we will see come November how gracious in defeat the Rocks are.

 

Great game. This was a one score game for most of the second quarter. T kept knocking at the door but the Bulldogs D was too strong.

I know for a fact it wasn't!

No offense, Ham Bone, but I (admittedly biased) don't think Trinity fans are delusional. I don't know one Trinity fan who has felt that there was no way we'd lose this game. I do think we're surprised by the margin. But we all know Male is a great team. And as to the being "so successful", since we started playing more regional powers, I would argue that that "so successful" qualifier is a matter of perspective. We have remained largely successful over Kentucky teams, but we always consider the games against Male and St. X as loss possibilities.

 

I don't know....maybe your circle of Trinity fans is different than mine. Mine tend to be not just Trinity fans, but football fans, and are quite forthcoming in recognizing our weaknesses and areas of opportunity.
