Israel is a powerhouse in medical technology and science in general. There is a very good chance that if you or a family member ever developed a serious disease, that an invention from them would be what's saving you.

Oh ok so as long as they're near us we will help them. Canada does give us oil and bacon, Mexico gives us....VW's and salsa. Israel needs to give us a lot more than medical technology since they don't border us.

Aside from being in numerous International trade organizations with Israel, Israel also provides the United States an important ally in a region where not many exist. Also, Israel has a pretty substantial lobby group in the United States, so removing our ties with Israel would not only be a dumb decision, it would also not likely be possible.

I can understand your isolationist views, but in todays society that just is no longer possible. With the global market larger than ever before, it is not feasible to cut off interactions with an entire region of the world. To much of our economy is ingrained in foreign markets to revert back to isolationist policies.
