Hatz
Setting The Record Straight: Kim Davis No Longer Alone - 30 Judges In North Carolina Refusing Homosexual Marriage But the state passed a law protecting them. Now is the state wrong for doing that? It's hard to take the writer seriously who calls his blog: Setting the record straight. Then he proceeds to get the name of the judge wrong: It's Bunning, not David Banning. Makes me wonder about the other rulings he says Bunning has made. It is interesting that his past case rulings according to the author are somehow linked to this one, but Mrs Davis' decisions are simply handled as forgiven sin. Habib
The funny part is they already had a law that says this: If any clerk of any court of record, sheriff, magistrate, school board member, county commissioner, county surveyor, coroner, treasurer, or official of any of the State institutions, or of any county, city or town, shall willfully omit, neglect or refuse to discharge any of the duties of his office, for default whereof it is not elsewhere provided that he shall be indicted, he shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor. If it shall be proved that such officer, after his qualification, willfully and corruptly omitted, neglected or refused to discharge any of the duties of his office, or willfully and corruptly violated his oath of office according to the true intent and meaning thereof, such officer shall be guilty of misbehavior in office, and shall be punished by removal therefrom under the sentence of the court as a part of the punishment for the offense. So, the new law has to carve out an exception to it. We're all boarding the bus to Stupidville because gay people can get married now.
Jesse James
I think the guy was Senator West. He was on CNN yesterday. But I have been saying this was going to happen for sometime. Apparently and I am only going on what I have been told that they have enough votes to do this and this guy said yesterday that both the democrats and Republicans are united on this issue to fix the licences where the state will have to issue them. Im sure the attorneys for Kim Davis knows this. The governor also knows this is what this guy said and thats why he wont call the session. Said lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have asked him to call it but he refuses. But what do I know. The Supreme Court has said nothing about North Carolina doing this? Do they just rule on Kentucky?

It's all about the voters and the votes of your constituency. Same thing happened in areas of the country 50 years ago or thereabouts.

Clyde
Someone help me out. Does the bill allow someone , like a Kim Davis, to not have their name on the license BUT the gay couple still gets a license? It's just signed by someone else? We are heading down a slippery slope if the anti-gay marriage crowd wants religious (i.e. Christian fundamental) exceptions within our laws. That isn't how this works.
