September 3, 201511 yr Ya don't say....:lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: Sucks to suck Roger. In the words of the great Omar..."You come at the king, you best not miss." This is the end of Goodell.
September 3, 201511 yr @wingoz: Bounty gate, Deflate gate, Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson penalties all overturned. Time for the NFL to SERIOUSLY revisit their process
September 3, 201511 yr You can't suspend someone on the basis of "we think he probably knew what was going on." That's just not good enough. The woman never showed up for the trial. It was thrown out. No proof of anything he did. Brady cheated and I hope he gets his payment on the field.
September 3, 201511 yr You can't suspend someone on the basis of "we think he probably knew what was going on." That's just not good enough. In the court of law, heck no it isn't. The NFL, as you accurately pointed, has always maintained given the totality of evidence it was "more probable than not" that Brady knew what was occurring. Vague language and power granted to him by the players. Today's decision will be appealed regardless of the outcome. Take away Deflategate. From a pure law and union perspective, you don't want the judicial system usurping the authority of collectively bargained decisions. Whether it is to overturn a ruling for either side. That is a horrible precedence. Score one today for the Unions of America.
September 3, 201511 yr Hopefully this means the beginning of the end of Goodell as commissioner. He is a joke. Still doesn't convince me that Brady isn't a cheater.
September 3, 201511 yr Hopefully this means the beginning of the end of Goodell as commissioner. He is a joke. Still doesn't convince me that Brady isn't a cheater. Do I think Brady impeded the investigation, had some culpability, and somewhat knew what was occurring? I really do. Did the NFL have a flimsy case from the onset. Yes to that, too.
September 3, 201511 yr No matter what you think of Tom Brady, the Patriots, or the balls... this is a win for all the players and fans of the NFL! Hopefully the NFL will get their act together moving forward. And that goes for the Players Association too. #beatsteelers
September 3, 201511 yr This is not surprising to me AT ALL. Look at what a storied, successful player Brady is. No way NFL makes him sit out. They would lose viewers (money) the first 4 weeks.
September 3, 201511 yr Do I think Brady impeded the investigation, had some culpability, and somewhat knew what was occurring? I really do. Did the NFL have a flimsy case from the onset. Yes to that, too. As they stated on the radio about the verdict, the judge did not say Brady isn't guilty. What the judge's ruling said is the NFL over stepped their bounds with their ruling. The NFL doesn't have the power to do this by their procedures. Basically the players needed some advanced knowledge of what the punishment would be for each violation before punishment is handed down. Because the NFL had no prior procedure punishment for equipment tampering then they could not hand down the punishment that they did. This is what a lawyer just stated on ESPN radio.

September 3, 201511 yr This is not surprising to me AT ALL. Look at what a storied, successful player Brady is. No way NFL makes him sit out. They would lose viewers (money) the first 4 weeks. The NFL was who he was fighting in court. The NFL wanted him out. An independent judge made this ruling. Not the NFL. A better post would be that the judge drafted Brady to his fantasy football team in a big time money league and needs Brady available immediately.
September 3, 201511 yr Patriots should go to court again to get their draft picks back. Hopefully Goodell is writing his letter of resignation today.
September 3, 201511 yr NFL had to know they were screwed when Judge Berman called Jay Feely to his chambers on Monday. The same Feely that was the kicker when the Jets got caught deflating kicking balls back in 2009. The punishment for Feely? Nada, and a meager fine for the organization. The suspension was a joke from day one. Everyone knew that.
