CCH always gets beat on when they play the big boys from across the river or down state. I don't understand why those 3 men had faith that things would be any different this year.

I agree. One game like this, per year,would be plenty. People talk about playing the best to be the best, but I think too many beatings of this nature can be demoralizing.

 

Also, I am a Highlands fan, but I think "just sayin" has long run it's course. It needs to be retired along with other phrases like "man cave ".

The Big Reds of Steubenville don't play to many away games. I see they have 9 games this year with 6 of them at home lol.

Would be good, but make sure to get a home and home and expect all close calls to be given to the Big Red when played there.

Fair enough...I think they are 1-4 against them in the last 15 years. They played them over a four year stretch 6 or 7 years ago that was a bad stretch of CovCath football. That is one school and I thought you were referring to a bucket of teams as they usually handle their business downstate fairly well even with subpar CovCath teams.

Sounds like this would have been a great time for St. X (OH) and Trinity to play one another. Haven't seen Trinity this season but have seen St. X on film and they may have a State championship team in the making this season. I know scheduling can be a problem but it would seem to me that if Trinity is the consistent and perennial power of KY they should be crossing the river EVERY year to play a top OH team.

They typically do. In 1998, 2002-2003, and 2007-2014 they played at least one, often two, Cincinnati teams each year.

 

I would have loved to see Trinity in Cincinnati again this year, but they had much less opportunity to schedule. The new district is bigger so, that's four games pre-scheduled and of course they needed to schedule the traditional Male and St. X games. Ensworth has been on the schedule for two straight years (2015 makes three) and is on its way to becoming another tradition, and I know that Brentwood Academy contacted Trinity early on about renewing their series.

 

With only two open dates for scheduling they probably couldn't find a week that worked with any of their usual Cincy opponents. Which is a really a shame, but hopefully they can work one in next year.

When I lived in Las Vegas in the late 80's and early 90's, there is a large Steubenville population that live there. There was a bar called Alias Smith and Jones, it was located a block east of the strip behind the old Sands, it was a Stuebenville bar. They had Steubenville Big Red and Stuebenville Catholic helmets behind the bar. During the football season, they would Fedex VHS tapes of the games and replay throughout the week.
