Clyde
One head coach says so. NFL head coach thinks Jay Gruden let Robert Griffin take beating on purpose | Larry Brown Sports
spindoc
Well, he took one, intentional or not.
bugatti
So I guess the alternative would have been to place in a different QB and let them get punished by the same suspect line? That is a serious accusation.
cathbird
The o line must have been in on it too because they didn't block anyone.
NKY Bandit
For one, put a name to your statement and stop hiding. Two, Griffin is a terrible QB. He needs all the reps he can get to develop into the type of guy that can win NFL games at that position. Nothing to see here.
plantmanky
Wasnt Gruden accused of doing this to one of his Arena league QB's back a few years ago?
NKY Bandit
Let's face it, Griffin is the perfect guy to run a certain type of 'system'. Unfortunately for him, no NFL teams run that system. In college, he had receivers open on occasion because everyone played him run first. Defenses love to see a QB that wants to run so they can tee off on him. Cover the receivers, make him revert to his natural instincts to tuck it and run and watch those big LB's and Safeties start to salivate.
ggclfan
Hard to take it that seriously when the coach says it anonymously. I am just glad Gruden is no longer with the Bengals. I never understood why he was a "hot" commodity as a o-coordinator...was never a fan.
Hellbird
How can you blame Gruden? Are you going to sit RGIII the entire pre season?

bugatti
What a circus. Dan Snyder is P.T. Barnum, Gruden is the Ringmaster, and RGIII is a clown.
futurecoach
What a circus. Dan Snyder is P.T. Barnum, Gruden is the Ringmaster, and RGIII is a clown. In fairness to Gruden, there hasn't been a single coach who has been able to make it work with Snyder. It has seemed like from the beginning that Gruden has wanted to replace RG3, but management has stopped him from playing the players who think are best for them to have a chance.
