The defense is pretty solid .

1A vs 5A shouldn't happen because of the scheduling of class disparity or that 5A should not be getting thumped by a 1A team? Let's not forget that SK was thumped by BW 28-0 a short few years ago and had to pull one out the following year. Neither game was at BW. Once in awhile BW will thump a NKY big school, SK, Dixie and Cov Cath included. It's a testament to a solid, small school program that often plays bigger than 1A. No shame in losing to the Wood.

I look for Dixie to lose every game this year.

 

Brother, what is this hair up your rear about Dixie? I know you like urinating just about anybody off, you're so damn good at it. What is it about the brother KC school you hate? Can't be about open enrollment, SK has enjoyed the benefits from it just like the other two schools. Can't be about getting beat twice by Dixie last year, SK did it to Dixie the year before I think. Did you get beat up by a Dixie guy years ago? I realize a lot of what you and whoever else uses the account does here is "schtick" and gamesmanship to get a reaction. Hell, obviously you got me to respond. I just don't know what the infatuation is to always crap on Dixie and it's kids are with you. I know you're not the only one that does this on BGP, but you're the most consistent.

 

I don't know maybe my skin is beginning to get thin. It's just some of the badmouthing gets to me.

Seems like all summer long we heard about how potent Scott's O would be. And they didn't put a single point up against NCC. Kind of concerning if I'm Scott. I think this game means more for Scott then it does for Dixie.

They did have some success moving the football. Too many issues with penalties and mistakes. I really believe they would have scored at least a couple of times had those issues not popped up. Throw in the fact that Pleasant was still limited with an ankle injury and didn't play much offense, I think all problems are fixable and I would expect better performance next week.

 

The good news for Scott is they found a way to win the game. These were the type of games that over the last few years, they would have lost. NCC is a quality team, and this is probably Scott's best win since the program began turning around.

I agree Norse 1 on the penalties issue. I think coach will have them straightened out . These first few weeks are just for that . That way by district time . We can hopefully have the offense and defense both clicking so we can make a run at this . These kids have the potential to make Big Noise . I said it a few months ago and I say it again . They could go far this year ...

I agree 100 percent . Plus a good man said to me Friday after the game...I would rather take an ugly win any day over a pretty lose.This is the type of win Scott needed to pull out . Proove to keep playing and find away , even when things around you look bad. It shows the desire and hunger in these kids. Good luck Eagles. One week at a time !!!

Scott by 2 TD's. Dixie is young and it will be a year of learning for them.

When was the last time anyone favored Scott over Dixie?? This should be a fun game, and I'm looking forward to being there. Big game for both teams.

Beans and rice have not missed them. I say that about myself folks so please don't be offended (sensitive folks). We'll witness a heckuva battle in the trenches. This is going to be a dandy of a game against a couple Kenton county brother schools. It's going to take a very good effort by the DH defense to contain London, Pleasant, and Perrin. I also know Scott will have fits with the three headed attack of Torres, Barmore, and Barrett. Will be the battle of the power run offenses! Who has success sprinkling in an occasional pass with success could be the difference.

 

This one could come down to turnovers and penalties and whoever has the least wins...

I think Scott pulls this off. I am concerned a little with the offense. Not scoring on NCC makes me a little nervous. Dixie is young and inexperienced but they have a good coaching staff that will get them ready by the end of the season.

The offense will be ok. NCC is a pretty solid team defensively, and there is no shame in not lighting up the scoreboard against them. Also, Pleasant was limited by an ankle injury, and only got a couple touches. With a few other first time starters on the O-line, who will continue to improve, and having all their weapons ready to go, I think the offense will still be the strength of this team.

 

It's funny though, everybody has talked over and over about Scott needing to throw the ball more. That's exactly what they did against NCC, with nearly 40% of their plays being passes, and they ended up with one of their lowest point totals in the last few years.
