Lamb has some really nasty pitches. he threw a curveball that broke from the helmet to the toes. Really like what the Reds have in him.

Lamb was very impressive. He was composed and he has a complete pitch arsenal that he can use. He made some really good pitches to get strikeouts including a couple 93 mph heaters that froze the hitters on the black, some nice curves and cutters as well. He has a nice smooth easy delivery. Even the pitch to Gonzalez on the HR was a beautiful pitch right where it was supposed to be.

 

He's a real polished pitcher, definitely more big league ready at this point than Lorenzen. It's amazing to me that he's just one piece of a trio of talented left handed pitchers recieved in the Cueto deal, I really like the deal even more after watching Lamb's debut.

He threw 99 pitches, 66 for strikes.

 

 

The 5th inning was the killer inning. He got the 1st 2 out, and then gave up 4 straight hits, the last being a 3 run homer by Gonzalez.

Very impressed with Lamb last night. I agree with the poster who said he's clearly more MLB ready than Lorenzen.

Lamb averaged 92 mph on his fastball and it topped out at 94 mph. That's good velocity for a lefty, especially when you're secondary offerings are all major league quality pitches. What impressed me was the changes in velocity that he posses within his pitch arsenal. The drop off from his fastball to his change up is nearly 16 MPH. The drop off to his curveball is nearly 23 MPH. He also throws a cutter between 88 and 91. Throughout his minor league career he's averaged nearly a K per 9 innings and after watching him last night I'm not surprised. I'm not sure what he looked like Pre-TJ surgery but I'd guess that he's close to being fully back to the point that once made him a top 15 prospect in the game.

 

It's impressive when a guy gives up 5 ER and you already can't wait until his next outing. That's where I'm at, can't wait to see him out there again.

I really like the kid as well. In my opinion, in seasons to come we will be calling him Hannibal because he will be silencing a lot of bats.( "Silence of the Lamb")

I think I start feeling the pain of low attendance tonight. Was fun while it lasted. Now I just need to remember that everything I make is bonus and that I just enjoy being in the park cause my per game average is going to start taking a major dip.

1st blown save at GABP since 9/7/2012. He had converted 56 consecutive saves at GABP.

Reds blow it in the 13th unless they score a few in the bottom of the inning.

Iglesias was really impressive last night. That contract might turn out to be a steal.
