August 10, 201511 yr The key will be when candidates start dropping out, due to lack of interest or money, where do their supporters go? Trump is leading with about a quarter of the vote right now, but if several drop out early in the primaries and this becomes a 2,3 or 4 person race next spring who ever picks up those stray votes will get the nomination. As long as there are 6-10+ people in the race it is a huge advantage for Trump if for no other reason than name recognition. After talking to some people if Kasich gains traction after people drop out , Trump will throw his support behind him. But Kasich has to move up the polls. To many similar candidates stealing votes from each other.
