We've had a pretty healthy discussion about schedules. There aren't many schools you can put onto a long term schedule and know they will be good. Heck, Ryle was crushing people 10 years ago and hasn't been heard from since. I remember when CovCath was winning championships. Those trophies are dusty. Cooper and Conner were both down last year. That's not our fault.

 

At the 6A level there are plenty of options to put a couple out of district teams on the schedule to prepare them for what they will see. This is the issue at SK. You have other schools around you that are having no issue finding multiple games to prepare them. Why can't SK? Because they chose not to. Are you really saying there aren't programs that you have a very good idea they will be good year in and year out that you can schedule??? At the end of the day, the best 2a school in the state should not be a challenge for a 6A school that considers themselves as a top program. If you are considering yourself a top 6a program, they have no business putting a 2A team on the schedule. Again, I don't care if they were national champs!

 

How bout an example...just a couple years ago, I think NCC was 5-5 with losses to a couple of the NKY avg 6A schools. They went on to win state! They were the best team in 2a that year and couldn't compete with even NKY 6 and 5a. That's not a hit on them. I love what they do to prepare. They have my respect!
