No, but we know one NKY school that would right? There also was no helmet to helmet contact in any game Highlands played. I do know that a Highlands receiver took a two hand tag directly to the facemask, but I guess that was okay.

And we all know one that will not right? Pretty sad that all these schools are worried about beating Highlands when they should be worried about winning their district and advancing through the playoffs to the state championship game. The only teams that should be worried about Highlands are CovCath, Dixie and Grant.

 

According to some like yourself, Highlands should just mail it in this year. I know this sentiment has existed at least 2 out of the last 4 years and we all know how that ended up now don't we.

 

How about some talk about the 7 on 7 and who looked good and places where improvements could be made. Some receivers that had good weekends for Highlands were Ryan Conley, Brad Greene and Trey Bowden.

 

Corners need to step up their games on Defense although I thought Kyle Rust showed some improvement from game one to game whatever.

 

Realize the Birds were working a lot of guys in and out on both sides of the ball attempting to find combinations that they can focus in on once the equipment goes on .

Pretty interesting thread. I am still pretty new to BGP but it seems the passions around each team is already in regular season form. I can't wait until the season actually starts,, sounds like it is going to be a good year with quite a few competitive games for NKY football

I watched a lot of grant at tournament an they was the surprise team on the feild . Very good arm strength for deep ball an very accurate qb ,fear the nation must have been watching our young freshman qb in the little time he watched . Grant did extremely we'll great recievers , I think they went 4 an 2

May have been. All the teams platooned and substituted pretty regularly. Not knowing Grant's starters I'm sure you are correct. I didn't see every game. Heard Saturday morning Grant was tough. Didn't get there till the afternoon.

This thread is making me dizzy ... back to the football aspect ... can anyone tell me how Brossart looked? Based on the schedule (Grant Co, Highlands (A), Owen Co, Ryle (B)), it looks like they competed against some quality squads.

 

I know there weren't any pads, and a football game is often won in the trenches, but how did the skill players for Brossart look? And how do they project against their new 1A schedule?

I was impressed with the improvement Harrison County has made with their new coach. This was the first time I had gotten to see them since last season. I know the have to be happy not to have Highlands and Cov Cath. in their district this season!

I watched the Highlands(A) vs. Brossart and it wasn't pretty. I don't know any of the kids on the Brossart so I won't comment on individual performances. Just saying they need some work all the way around.

 

I was sitting right above the team when they were about the leave and I was impressed by the head coach. Said all of the right things and getting back to basics. He believes the running game will be A+ (his words). He didn't like the walking in and out of huddles and off the field. He mentioned something like: "Highlands guys were always running, we need to get in better shape".
