Knowing who is on the School board, it doesnt surprise me. I have a hard time believing that the new principal they have is caving though. From what I hear he has brought a ton of discipline to the school and is demanding respect.

 

If anything, the hire of Wolfzorn may have been a conflict of interest due to the fact that I believe there is some sort of in-law connection between him and the A.D. That, if anything may have raised a stir. But to be quite honest, Wolfzorn did a great job and probably wanted to stay longer than most.

 

On the stepping stone theory.....the board/A.D should detect these types of coaches and discount them from what I believe to be a disservice to student athletes as well as the community. I understand the young man wants to build a resume but considering the past 2 coaches used them, I would be leary of someone like Schrand.

The only way a program like Bellevue keeps a quality coach for a long period is if the coach is from the Bellevue community. Most good coaches are going to move on to the more competive programs.

The problem is parents need to quit meddling in their kids affairs when it comes to sports. Every parent nowadays thinks that their kid is the best player at every position and is getting cheated out of playing time. If a coach is willing to stand up for what he feels is right and the administration does not, then shame on them. The School Board is in the wrong here and nobody else. This problem just continues to get bigger and bigger every year and has even started to trickle into the little leagues. Parents need to be thankful that their kids are even getting a chance to play rather than complaining that Johnny is not batting leadoff and playing where he wants or bringing the ball up the court so he can shoot it.

First of all, lets remember that this is all speculation on why they are looking for a new coach... but if certain theories hold true than....

 

Its possible some sort of indirect nepotism but IMO it sounds like it is someone on the board trying to bully the administration. Playing time should not be a problem at BHS if you are a good player. If you are an average to poor player than you probably wont play. Its not like the competition for playing time is that tough at the small school.

 

The good ole boy network is what I like to call this ....nice people on board with tremendous spirit for the school but they have way too much say in the hiring and firing of coaches/athletics. The funny thing is I cant remember ever once hearing of any of those board members playing or even better yet actually succeeding as a Tiger Athlete.....isnt that the typical stereotype parent though who complains about "lil johnny" not getting enough playing time?

I just looked up the list of Board members and yes, there is one name listed that is the same as a last name I saw on the roster last season. I don't remember seeing it in the box score much though....hmmmmmmmmmm

It is in no way related to a booster, board member, nepotism, or any other exciting "gossipable" reason. Actually the reason is quite boring. It in no way is a negative mark on the old coach, nor is it any of those other things people like to gossip about. It also had nothing to do with his coaching ability or the success of the program. It had nothing to do with a player, a student or another faculty member. (I'm trying to eliminate all the exciting reasons people may come up with) because I am not at liberty to say the reason, but it really not important nor exciting. Sorry!!! :sleep: :sleep:
