July 9, 201511 yr Horseshoe Casino to start charging for parking. $10 daily rate. :irked: I thought they always charged in the garage but if you gambled, you got the parking waived.
July 9, 201511 yr I thought they always charged in the garage but if you gambled, you got the parking waived. This is for non-customers who work downtown and have been parking there. Casino limits free parking for non-customers
July 9, 201511 yr Horseshoe Casino to start charging for parking. $10 daily rate. :irked: Why should they not charge those who are parking there and going elsewhere?
July 9, 201511 yr I have not been for a while but I've never paid to park. Most casinos if you get valet you can get your ticket stamped by a pit boss and they won't charge you.
July 9, 201511 yr Only been there once, long enough for Mrs. Lawnboy to drink one beer and then we left. That was, and will be, the ONLY time I will ever be there. Not my cup of tea.
July 9, 201511 yr Horseshoe Casino to start charging for parking. $10 daily rate. :irked: This is a little bit misleading. The Casino has essentially become "free parking" downtown. Many non-Casino customers use it on a daily basis. The Casino will begin to charge those who are not guests of the Casino. It is my understanding that, if you have a Rewards Card, you won't have to pay for parking at all. Likewise, if you are a customer at the Casino, you will not have to pay at all. Finally, if you have been issued a parking pass by Hamilton County, the Casino will continue to honor those. So, this only affects those that park at the Casino and then walk to their employer on a daily basis (which is a lot, from what I understand). I have absolutely no problem with that.
July 10, 201511 yr I have been to the casino (to eat and gamble) on a weekday and the garage is nearly full from downtown workers. I had to park much further than I had expected. Charge them $20 for all I care.

It seems like this would allow the offenders to continue to abuse the system. I'm not a big gambler, but if it is like Casino Astar in Evansville, anybody can sign up for a rewards card that you are given instantly.

Hits the nail on the head. Casino is charging for anyone entering from 6:30 to 10:30 in the am. on weekdays. Daily charge for those drivers. More than fair. Love the timing as well. All-Star weekend, plenty of other news in the city. This one gets barely a mention. Less PR hit for the Horse. They do not miss a trick.
July 10, 201511 yr Everyone had to know this was coming. I used to park across the street for $110 a month when I worked downtown. Prime parking real estate.

Surprised they didn't do it sooner honestly.
