March 20, 201610 yr And B-Ball- fan, most who do the applauding of such an action wouldn't have the stones to do it their selves!
March 20, 201610 yr It wasn't that long ago that women (girls) much younger than the "legal age of 18", were having sex, getting married, having kids and raising a family in this country. When a 18-19 year old boy has sexual relations with a 16-17 year old girl, most don't see it as a problem, some lasting relationships even start at this age. But a 40 year old has sexual relations with a 17 year old and they are the most horrible person on the world according to a lot of you. Now if he was touching very young girls, or possessing pics or porn of very young girls or boys, then i think he should get the prison time he deserves. And get mental help. Good insightful thoughts. I totally grasp what you're saying. Don't expect too many others to.
March 20, 201610 yr And NOW, which is when we live, there are laws established that say 18+ adults cannot have sexual relations with 17 and under children. It's the law.
March 20, 201610 yr I was 20 when I had my first real sexual experience and it was with a 41 year old man who I was in a relationship for 7 years, and who I am still great friends with today. He's now 72 and I am 51 and we've had a great long lasting friendship. When I was 16 or 17 knowing that I was only attracted to older men, I had no concept of how I could possibly have met anyone to experience what I was longing to experience, so I remained celibate until 20 by circumstance. My dude friends my age were all dating girls and having a blast and I was for the sake of looking straight, pretending to date girls, but having no experiences at all aside from a little bit of kissy-face with girls just to see if it had any effect on me, which it didn't. At 16 I was physically and mentally ready for an experience, but would have to wait until I was 20 before I figured out how I was ever to meet anyone. If I had known how to have met someone at 16 or 17 I would have in a heartbeat, but of course for whatever older man I might've met, it would've been illegal for them to engage in any activity with me because of the law, whether or not it was relevant to my own personal circumstances or desires. Again though I would have in a heartbeat and would not have told a soul. Perhaps some 16 or 17 olds are not mentally ready for such things, but most at that age are indeed physically ready, and many are already thinking about it. Parents don't like to realize this as they want to look at their kids as being a child for as long as possible, but physically both 16 and 17 year old boys and girls have bodies fully capable of sexual activity. I'm not buying that the girls who were 16 and 17 that Jared messed with didn't know what they were doing. They most certainly knew what they were doing and were also hoping to cash in as well. Sure Jared knew the law and was dumb and dirt to follow his temptations and get involved, but in some situations age is relative, and it doesn't instantly mean that someone is a pedophile. All over Europe legal age is 16 where here in the states it's 18. I'm not saying one is wrong and one is right, but it's relative at best. I also realize that my audience here is mostly conservatives from the Bible belt. Because Jared was messing with the sharing of underage photography screams that he's got some issues and needs help indeed, but he doesn't need a butt kicking. It wouldn't surprise me at all if these issues are a result like I had mentioned before of him being a fat unattractive teen with no girlfriends and not being able to move on mentally from his attraction to girls of the age he was when he first started being attracted to them, but likely couldn't do anything about it. Even if by chance he has no self awareness of this, I'd bet that it has something, or everything to do with it. Most "normal" people are too shallow to understand this, or that sexuality is way more complex than than they realize, and that it's different for so many different people. There's even a portion of society that is quietly asexual who wouldn't tell a soul because they realize that all the "normal" ones would make fun of them, or treat them as outcasts. I've known a couple of asexual people and though they confided in me, they've mostly kept it a secret because the general public of "normal" people are mostly incapable of understanding and are rude, nasty, and unfriendly. Can you tell that I'm not impressed with the general public?
March 20, 201610 yr And NOW, which is when we live, there are laws established that say 18+ adults cannot have sexual relations with 17 and under children. It's the law. So if they do beat the crap out of them. Right?
March 20, 201610 yr So if they do beat the crap out of them. Right? Did I say that? I will say this. If an adult man (or, to make you happy, woman) messes with my underage daughter, I will beat the crap out of him.
March 20, 201610 yr I get it. Our prison system is a mess. Many people that go into aren't necessarily bad guys, but people who make some bad choices. And then get completely broken, and end up in worse shape than when they entered. Beatings, physical, sexual and mental abuse aren't a great way to guide someone towards becoming a productive citizen. That being said, sexual abusers, especially pedophiles, don't have a great track record for being rehabilitated. And let's face it, that's what Jared was. Yes some of the girls might have been almost "legal". But it's been stated in almost every source I've read, was that he often requested younger, and especially liked those that were 12-14. No matter how you cut it, that's wrong. Most of these girls have been involved with human trafficking, and will have to deal with these issues for the rest of their lives, leading to drug addiction and other crimes. No 12-14 year wants to get into prostitution. So while I'm not a big fan of Jared (or any prisoner) getting abused, I'm also having a hard time working up any sympathy for him, and would rather he be right where he is at than living his life freely and abusing kids.

I don't care what happened to Jared growing up. I don't care if he was a fat teenager and that the girls were not attracted to him. I don't care if his sexuality is locked into a prepubescent time such that now the only way he is sexually turned on is by young girls who represent those who ignored him when he was Fat Jared. Sorry not sorry. We all have issues or experiences in our past that are not right. We all have baggage that could have dragged us down causing us to make poor choices if we let said baggage be our destiny. B-Ballfan---I will ALWAYS go out of my way to defend you--and I will "keyboard kick" anyone who gets on here and is unkind to you about who you are and who you choose to love. But your comments and subtle justification of pedophilia and pedophiles is scaring me. Edited March 20, 201610 yr by hoops5
March 20, 201610 yr So if they do beat the crap out of them. Right? Only in the society in which he currently resides. All of your posts have been about societal norms and acceptance, from your point of view. The societal norm where Jared lives is that child molesters and men who beat on women get the same treatment on the inside as they gave on the outside…..it's the norm for that society. Everyone on here knows Jared is sick, most believe he needs help, few care little that he got in a dust up in his current neighborhood. It's not how he got where he lives now, it's what is he going to do about it to be a better member of society going forward. As for your seeming comparisons of your gay lifestyle experience and Jared's pedophilia…..you are definitely not doing the gay community any favors by trying to make those comparisons. What you are implying is that pedophilia and homosexuality are similar, and I'm pretty sure that's 180 degrees different from the message that is intended to be sent.

What you are implying is that pedophilia and homosexuality are similar, and I'm pretty sure that's 180 degrees different from the message that is intended to be sent. If you had truly read what I had said and understood it you would know that I was NOT comparing gayness to child molestation, as I has made that perfectly clear, yet I was comparing society's acceptance of a beat down of both a gay person, or a child molester as if the ones doing the beating were applauded as being better than whoever they were beating up. I said and I quote: "In many ways that feels the same to me as them applauding of the gay bashing thugs that I described above. I'm not equating child molestation with being gay, but I'm equating the general public or even church goers applauding violent types in both scenarios." I'm not surprised that someone made this misunderstood connection with what I said as I even pleaded that no one misquote me if they intended to respond, I said and I quote: "If you plan to respond to what I have said don't even bother if you don't intend to actually read it all, or if you intend to misquote or misrepresent what I have said. I have no interest in repeating myself to go over again and again because someone wants to spin what I have said to make it sound like I said something else". ...yet you did anyhow in an attempt to misrepresent what I have said with what you hope to make it sound like I said.

But your comments and subtle justification of pedophilia and pedophiles is scaring me. hoops5...I'm on board with what you and rjs4470 are saying and I promise that you don't need to be frightened by me as I am seriously not trying to defend pedophiles if I make comments that lend understanding to how someone like Jared turned out the way he did. Though I haven't held back with my disgust for those celebrating him being beaten up, it has saddened me that my view has helped to darken your view of me considering you've always been very cool with me and I've always viewed you as probably the nicest member out here, which I still do. I apologize that you got tossed into the mix of me laying a blanket statement over everyone making comments, as I don't think for one minute that you are one of the ones who takes delight in hearing that he got beat up no matter how disgusted you are by his behavior. Though I've gone to great lengths here to try to analyze the complexities of sexuality and that it's more complex than what the average person is willing to realize, I have said time and again within my comments that in no way shape or form was I advocating child molestation because it disgusts me just as much as it does that the general public would celebrate that someone like Jared has been beaten up as a result of his behavior. I don't advocate violence in this situation either and is the biggest point that I've been trying to make, yet as a result of trying to advocate PEACE I'm now viewed as a sicko because the general public misunderstands what I'm getting at, but with what I've seen of the general public my whole life I'm not all that surprised anyhow. I realized even before posting that what I was saying was not going to be understood or considered a popular thought, yet I still I believe that even though a not so popular thought it needs to be heard and I will stand by my disgust til the day I die that it's pathetic of the general public to celebrate someone, and especially a non violent person being beaten up in prison as a result of their disturbing behavior. More disturbing behavior on top of disturbing behavior is not justified no matter how many people think so. It's not the answer and it's disturbing to me that so many think that it is. People like to ignore my message here and try to run with a more sensationalized radical "taking things out of context" version of what I'm trying to say to try to paint me as an advocator of child molestation, and that's just not what I am getting at. Because I try to understand things from a psychological point of view that too doesn't seem to fly very well with shallow average reactionaries either. Even with that last comment I realize that I'm not going to score any points with too many people, and though it may be hard for most to hear it, it's the truth. The average person is incapable of understanding human behavior in a more scientific approach and rely on emotional reactions within their lack of understanding. Again, hopefully you now have a better understanding of what I'm getting at even if you don't completely agree, and that you don't have reason to be frightened by me because though I may be in minority in thought, I am an advocate of peace and am a non violent person.
March 20, 201610 yr Good insightful thoughts. I totally grasp what you're saying. Don't expect too many others to. Of course we grasp what he is saying but the issue here is not having sex with almost 18 year olds. You can use that to justify your plight to save poor Jared but you both need to open your eyes to his real crimes. Nobody is celebrating his beatdown; I just don't have any sympathy for him. He is a predator of young children and I'm glad he is locked up where he can't hurt them anymore.
March 20, 201610 yr Does Jared look like a violent type person to you? Having sexual desires does not make one a violent person. Exactly what does a violent type person look like? Ted Bundy was a handsome fellow. So handsome that the women who stopped to help him, didn't see his violence coming from those pearly whites. You have no idea what violence came out during his sexual desires for children. To claim otherwise is ridiculous on your part.
