June 23, 201511 yr Came across this post and wondered if it was worth some discussion. Not wanting to spoil it but there were some surprises IMO. They use a criteria to evaluate so it is not as easily dismissed but some of the rankings don't pass the eye/smell test. Ranking Every Modern President from Worst to First

I find it ironic that while they listed him with such higher popularity than I thought, he felt he couldn't win the nomination and backed out of running for re-election in '68. Doesn't sound like one of the greatest to me.
June 23, 201511 yr LBJ always ranks high on list like this because he got so much of what he wanted passed through congress. With his party controlling the senate and the house as well as the hangover from the JFK assassination he could have gotten anything he wanted through congress.
