I expect Brady's suspension to be reduced to no more than 1-2 games.

 

Adam Schefter said this morning that unless Brady's suspension is totally lifted, he will sue the NFL. Even if it is reduced to one game, he will sue. If there is a suit, it will be in a Massachusetts court since he is an employee in that state. What do you think the odds of him getting an injunction is to be able to play while the trial goes on?? Hopefully, the judge is a Pats season ticket holder:)!!

Not sure but I heard that there was something like 40 people there and Brady was under oath for the meeting. I thought 40 was a ton of people...I was expecting Brady, Goodell, Wells, Brady's attorney and/or agent and maybe a couple of other stuffed shirts from the NFL office...10 or less. 40 seems like A LOT! Also, is it normal to be under oath for an appeal? I don't have a problem with it but found it strange.

I hope he sues. And if he loses in court his 4 game suspension will go into effect around the middle of December. That would be poetic.

With the next level going to an actual judge, this evidence can now be used in those proceedings. Not sure if it would have been permitted otherwise? That is my best guess.

The fact that it appears to look like Brady is very willing to take this to court makes me think he REALLY thinks he did nothing wrong. If he is willing to answer all the questions under oath, Goodell may have a problem. I wonder if Goodell's only out is to give Brady only a fine for not cooperating initially ($100,000 or so) and no suspension. I think Goodell is in a bit of bad spot. Any good attorney will destroy the Wells report in a court room and the precedent for punishment for "doctoring" the football has been basically been to tell the teams doing it to stop...and Brady gets 4 games?!?! The NFL will lose big if this goes to court.

However he also knows that they can't really prove anything for sure now, so going to court helps him since there won't be much proof to show that he definitely did. It's just smart on his part. Yes, as would the entire organization. Those workers that weren't allowed to speak to the NFL a second time would be compelled to be deposed and to testify...Brady's phone and everything on it would be in play. NO WAY THIS GOES TO COURT...Brady is just posturing for the fans and trying to bluff his way out of his suspension.

Why do they need Brady's phone? Cant they just get the records from the phone company?

No he could be, but why not let them see the pertinent emails in his and his lawyers presence? The reason he was suspended in the first place I think was more because of his lack of cooperation than for the balls.
