June 18, 201511 yr Was it a velociraptor in the book or did Spielberg change it. How much of the inaccuracies are from the book and not an invention of Spielberg? In the book it was a velociraptor, but at the time the book was written the velociraptor was mislabeled. The correction happened not long after the book was published. Although I was under the impression that the raptor skeleton used as the model was actually the utahraptor.
June 18, 201511 yr So just got in from watching it. I guess my issue is that in the first movie it was arrogance for the most part that brought them down. In this one - it's outright and blatant stupidity. Don't get me wrong, I was entertained mostly, but man, stupid people doing stupid things takes me out of movies every time. And the stupidity in this film was BREATHTAKING. Also, and I guess this is a SPOILER - They sure did go full Watanabe in Godzilla with a "Let them fight" moment. Also felt like that climactic scene was practically screaming "Real dinosaurs stick together!!!!"

Not enough to ruin my enjoyment, but enough for the occasional facepalm To the spoiler...Yes! I kept thinking the same thing.
June 18, 201511 yr I read on line that the T-Rex at the end is the exact same T-Rex that was trashing the building at the end of the first movie. That they even put scars on it that were caused by the Raptors climbing on her in the first movie.
June 18, 201511 yr ^ Which doesn't make a great deal of sense given that those dinosaurs in the first one were supposed to be lysine deficient, thereby killing them if they didn't receive it from the humans. Which they obviously didn't. But I had heard that it was the same one as well.

June 18, 201511 yr Did you not see the second movie.............life found a way. I've somewhat convinced myself over the years that neither Lost World or Jurassic Park III really happened. If there was something about that in those, I forgot. I'm not sure I've seen Lost World in over 15 years.

How could you miss them, they have been running one after the other over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again for the last month on 5 different channels.

Easy - I just didn't watch them! I have no desire to see a dinosaur defeated with gymnastics.....
June 19, 201511 yr Saw it last weekend. Our theatre went to self-serve butter on the popcorn so the experience was exceptional! The movie was ok...the action was good, the special effects were good, however I wasn't really sold on some of the characters or either the acting....I am not qualified to judge what. There was a "bad" guy who was doing his best Brian Dennehy impersonation which bugged the heck out of me. I couldn't figure out if the hero was Indiana Jones or what. And, the parents could run down there when the dinosaurs hit the fan, but they didn't have the time to take the kids themselves and left them with an estranged aunt. And what about this special gun the hero carried around for most of the movie? When he finally shot it, it was useless. Ok, I'm done.
June 19, 201511 yr Any of you notice the guy who grabbed his marguiritas off the table as he was escaping. Someone at work said that was a Jimmy Buffett cameo. I specifically remember seeing that, but didn't realize it was him.
June 22, 201511 yr Watched it last night. I would have given it 4 out of 5 stars, but then the ending happened, which I thought was really cheesy. 3 out of 5 stars for me.
June 22, 201511 yr We loved it. Saw it Saturday. The lovely lady usually does not like these kind of movies, but she loved this one. By the way, Ronnie Howard's little girl has grown up a little, ya' think? She was breathtaking @DragonFire.
