In honor of the thread, I stopped and contributed to the delinquency of a couple minors. I bought a cup of lemonade. Prices sure have gone up. It used to be .25, now a $1.

I always give donations to kids running lemonade stands. I love the initiative they show and think they should be rewarded. However, they are all nose pickers in down time.

This is stupid. It's a lemonade stand. It's not like they set up a Chinese buffet on the street. Did anyone get tased?

Not really I actually understand why the law/permit is in place on this. Furthermore the police went out of their way to get them the paperwork they needed.

 

Much to do about nothing, follow the rules. Parents should have been more on top of things.

 

I would take a different approach and say this show how many stupid laws are on the book. This law was written to go after little kids lemonade stands.

 

There is so much red tape in our local municipalities it's a joke.

We should all question authority but I don't believe we should "immediately" circumvent authority.

I'm with Lipton B here. In the end, the family found a way to overcome an obstacle...a legal way. That's as black and white as it gets. How one can say they're subverting or teaching their kids to go around the law is baffling to me. If anything, it's teaching the kids to research and adjust their plan to accomplish their goal. They 1) didn't knowingly intend to break the law in the first place and 2) when they found out they were, they became familiar with the law, as well as the Health Department regs, and have now found a way to accomplish their goal without breaking any laws or violating any regs.
