June 9, 201511 yr Another Diesel Pickup Truck. I drive a 2011 Ford F250 King Ranch with the 6.7 Turbo in it. After the regulations set forth by our buddies in Washington in 2008, all Diesel vehicles have what they call a DEF system. Diesel Exhaust Fluid......It's a cooling(cleaning) system that automatically injects fluid(that you have to worry about keeping full or your vehicle will shut down) into the Exhaust system at different times of use. The kicker here is that there are 4 sensors that are strategically placed throughout the exhaust system that have major problems and tend to fail. I have had 2 fail since I have started driving it. The dealer wants roughly $650.00 to replace a $25.00 part that takes a 10mm wrench and some PB Blaster Lubricant. I was able to buy both sensors and by the way are all the same part number and install them myself in about 5 minutes. Did I mention I have 4 or them in my exhaust system. Why 4 of them Ford Motor Company? Seems a little excessive doesn't it? Before 2011 there were only 3....Sure lets add another right! When one of these sensors goes out it's a little scary. Especially when you are hauling a 8000lb boat and your entire family traveling back from Norris. The first time I had this happen I wasn't sure what to expect. When the warning signs lit up on my dashboard to pull over safely, I didn't realize what was about to happen. Once I pulled off the expressway and came to the light and to a complete stop, the vehicle shut down. That's right, completely shut down and force me to have my truck and boat on trailer towed. Once unhooked at the dealer I turned the Key and it started right up.....:taz: Only to fail about 2 hours again on the highway just north of Georgetown. Each time It failed I would have to let the truck rest for a 1hr and 20 minutes before it would reset. I do now carry spare sensors in my truck. That was a perfect ending to our wonderful trip to Norris....
June 9, 201511 yr Author I will never buy a Ford!! Bought brand new 2002 Explorer for over 30k.. fuel pump went out at 17k, then transmission issue at 45k (warranty covered both). Then when warranty ended at 75k the real issues started. About 7 different wheel bearings, rebuilt transmission, rear end differential, some switch that controls cruise control, cracked plastic on rear hatch.. and I'm sure there are more. I looked up on the internet and found THOUSANDS of owners with the same exact issues and Ford would do nothing to even assist with repair costs. The service manager even admitted they are on their 4th fix on the wheel bearings and they still won't assist. I've kept the vehicle as I need a 4 wheel drive where I live and the interior and exterior are in mint shape and the ride is nice. I let the entire floor room full of customers know about their product the last time I was there. I'm about to go test drive a full size truck and let them get all the deals worked out and then tell them why I won't purchase it after I would have if they would have just admitted the issue that are published on-line for everyone to see... there, my 10,000 rant about Ford is over. Brother has/had a Ford Diesel. Thing stays messed up more than it runs. Shame because it could be a nice truck.

Anybody want a Black & Red pair really cheap?:poop: Have had quite a few problems with my Beats By Dre. Wish I'd bought Parrot Zik headphones. There are some cool things about Beats headphones, but overall, you can find way better for much cheaper. I've already had to return one pair of Beats and the range on them is horrible.
June 9, 201511 yr Not sure if true or not but I've heard all those smaller residential mowers are made by only two different companies. MTD probably makes the majority of any Lawn Tractors you see regardless of the name on it. Husqvarna is makes some Lawn Tractors then a good deal of the Garden Tractors. Briggs and Stratton owns the Murray Brand name you see at Wal-Mart however I was told they didn't make the mowers. From what I've read Husqvarna makes the riders and MTD makes the push mowers. You start playing who builds what with low end lawn mowers it will make your head spin.
June 9, 201511 yr Cub Cadet use to be really good until MTD got their mitts on them. Btw, same manufacturer of troy bilt. Yep. I made my purchases based on the way they used to be. I had many relatives involved in farming and landscaping and they had sworn by Cub. The only resemblance to the old days is the logo and yellow color.

Like everything MTD builds now they are junk.

June 9, 201511 yr Harbor Freight tools. My first year owning a home I went cheap and got some tools from there. They are all crap, never again. Better off paying for the good stuff from the start.

Lip stick on a pig, j/k. Obviously any lines upper end products will be better. However, all things equal I'm buying a different brand then anything made by MTD.
