Squaring up like that is a common shooting stance though, or he may have thought he was squaring up to fight.

 

I think when he reaches behind him that's when the officer decided to pull his gun.

If the police officer wasn't out of control. Why did he resign? Why did his Cheif come out in the media stating he was out of control? If the officer felt he was in the right. He would not have resigned.

 

I heard he was receiving death threats. That might be one reason.

I see him getting down low to the ground (which he says was to tell the girl that everything was going to be alright, and that he was going to find her mother), I can't see his hand.

 

Honestly, I don't think the pulling the gun aspect was a big deal. I can see why that happened. I don't see anything that looks like the guy was possibly pulling a gun on the officer though.

Could it be they would just assume to not have McKinney turn into another Baltimore or Ferguson? The officer gets to keep his pension so maybe it was a "you resign, I'll toss you under the bus to the media, and you get to keep your pension and get a job with another department" type thing. That combined with what Jumper Dad said about Darren Wilson makes since for everyone.

The Cheif also stated that 10 of the 11 officers stuck to their traning. obviously the chief/city isn't behind this guy at all. They wanted him gone.

For those that don't realize it, in nearly every city in America the position of Police Chief serves at the pleasure of the Mayor. Police Chief's can in almost all cases be fired without cause at the whim of the Mayor. Police Chiefs are becoming more and more politically savvy as a way to hold onto their jobs.

 

And in many, if not most, the police officers do not like the chief for this reason. The police chief has to be politically correct and answer to the mayor. Officers are more and more worried no one has their back.

Then forget the gun aspect and consider the officer was trying to cuff someone on the ground and was being surrounded by several individuals. Who knows what their intent is. I have ZERO problem with the officer pulling his gun.
