I wouldn't read into this part of the incident too much. In short, when you are being approached by fast moving, potential hostiles while you are otherwise engaged detaining someone drawing your service weapon in defense is something you are trained to do. Doesn't mean it is the only response a police officer may have in this case, but it is the ultimate option and although many people (and even some officers) will disagree with it in this case, you can't fault the officer for following his training during such a high stress incident.

Was anyone involed charged with a crime? If not. Why was that level of fource used on people who didn't comit a crime?

I have more of an issue with how he handled the girl who was wearing nothing but a bikini than I am with him pulling his gun on the 3-4 guys that walked up on him.

 

Blast away, but I can totally understand why he pulled his gun.

 

I couldn't be further from being the sharpest tool in the shed, but there are a couple things I've never done in my 30+ years on earth & hopefully never do, and that's running up on a policeman during an altercation/arrest.

 

Hypothetically, lets say one of those young men has a gun on them and pulls the trigger.......then what is everybody saying.

Then everybody is saying what happens to him as a result of pulling that gun is what he deserves. I can't imagine anyone anywhere that has any kind of sense that would be okay with a person pulling a gun on a cop.

Eventually it will happen and be captured on video. The whole tide of this will change at that point.
