May 28, 201511 yr Went 0 for 2 with a drive to the warning track tonight and is now 0 for 10 years at the plate (2006-2015). To be fair he was in the AL but he did have plate appearances in every season except 2007 in Inter-League games. Now 0 for 59 lifetime. Does have 6 sacrifices, 1 walk, and 1 RBI.
May 28, 201511 yr I wonder what the longest 0 fer to start a career is... Also, what is the most AB's in a career for someone who did not ever get a hit?
May 28, 201511 yr I wonder what the longest 0 fer to start a career is... Also, what is the most AB's in a career for someone who did not ever get a hit? Taken from Yahoo answers: Randy Tate, a starting pitcher for the 1975 Mets (that one season was his entire major league career), went zero for 41. He did draw a walk. Most AB without a hit by a non-pitcher: Larry Littleton, an outfielder (mostly LF) for the 1981 Indians, went 0-23, with three walks and one sac fly, resulting in one RBI. His entire major league career was in the first half of that split season. Tate (zero in 47 PA) and Littleton (zero in 27 PA) also own the career marks for most plate appearances without a hit by anyone and a position player, respectively. Whatta pair.

May 28, 201511 yr You'd think blind hog luck would take over at some point. Heck, even LRCW could mix one in at some point.

You'd figure a pro athlete at some point would run into a ball at some point in time and find a hole. But people don't understand just how hard it is to hit major league pitching. I hear guys in bars all the time say "heck, I could hit .200". The correct response is "no you can't".

He did hit an absolute shot in his first AB last night but it was run down on the warning track. Thought it might go out when it left the bat.

May 29, 201511 yr Well, I probably could, but I get your point. Of course, I could too. But then again we are better than most right:up:
May 29, 201511 yr You don't need a quadrophonic Blaupunkt! What you need is a curveball! In the show, everyone can hit heat. Well...almost everyone.
