Kraft won't be laughing about anything until his QB isn't suspended for 4 games. I think the animosity is very real right now.

I think one thing is true. From the very first day the NFL has once again bumbled this entire thing like a bunch of keystone cops. They have been a joke ever since Goodell took over and it's a shame the owners don't see it and get rid of him. They are his boss afterall.

Yea, I heard that too...can the NFL botch things even worse than they have over the past year? I wouldn't hold it against them. Just when you think the commissioner and his office have learned by past mistakes they make even worse mistakes. Goodell really needs to go. This coming from a guy who really hoped they had the Pats dead to rights lol....now I'm thinking it doesn't matter what happened because the sotry now shifts to how screwed up the commisioner's office is.

Which is what we all assumed. I still do not understand if everyone in New England is going with the "100% not-guilty" stance, why they would agree to that? I would tell the league office to kiss my rear like they have in standing up for the rest of the organization. Regardless of the outcome, I hope they don't throw these guys under a bus to protect others. Now that would be shady.

There is absolutely nothing the NFL could have done right in this situation. They were asked to investigate this.

 

Name any stance the NFL could have taken that would have been applauded. People have clamored for punishments ranging from nothing to forfeiture of games.

What they shouldn't have done however is not tell the Patriots to suspend the 2 equipment guys before the report was released. They also should not have taken this long to come out with their report. They messed up in so many ways that I didn't think it was possible to handle anything worse than they handled the Ray Rice episode, but just a few months removed from that fiasco they top themselves with this. How do you tell the Patriots to suspend the 2 equipment guys before they release the report on the investigation and on top of that why do the Pats go ahead and suspend them before knowing what the report states? Makes both look really stupid.

Patriots will "reluctantly" accept their penalties and not appeal.

I am sure when they met yesterday Goodell told Kraft if you just accept the punishment, I will go ahead an reduce Tom Brady's suspension down to 1 game if any at all once I hear his appeal.

I absolutely think something close to this was discussed.

 

Something along the lines of, drop it, let's put it behind us, and I'll make sure Tom is taken care of.

 

In addition, Kraft said he supports Goodell's position in discipline matters. Translation: We reached a deal.
