The guard missing off this roster that everyone forgets about that would have helped is Jeremiah Tisdale. Wish he didn't miss his senior season with injury.

 

He was really good against the IN All Stars last year at both ends.

No matter what everyone is going to have a disagreement about who should be on team or who shouldn't we are all coaches who think we know everything lol. Good Luck to all the kids that made it.

You neglected the fact that he had 8 turnovers the first game and 6 or 7 in the second. He can score the ball but he also helps the other team score plenty.

I would say that is a little harsh on Bolden. I bet you if he would of played with Hoop Dreams you wouldnt say anything bad about him.

I saw both games...the turnovers had more to do with getting no help when Indiana hedged the high ball screen. No movement. No options to avoid the double.

 

When Indiana pressed, the KY coach didn't set up a press break. Just relied on Beetle using his quickness and handles to get the ball past mid court. When he had help in both situations, the turnovers went away. I seem to remember those turnovers being early in both games and once the situations were corrected, Beetle looked much better. I know I was sitting with Holmes' coaches the second game and they had the same observation.

 

Not a PG in this state I'm taking over Beetle and that has nothing to do with bias. Ask Dre Mahorn who he is missing most from last year's Travelers team because of how well they handle pressure and handle the ball and get back to me.

 

Really hope you attend BOTH games this year as well, which I assume you will since Aric AND Justin are in it.

I never saw either game, but that makes sense as a contributing factor to the high turnover ratio. I do know that against elite level competition (which Indiana All Stars will have) that if Beetle struggles then any other PG in the 2015 class would likely be in more trouble. There is a reason Beetle is going to play his college ball at a Power 5 Conference school. There is not another PG in 2015 class that had any offers that I can recall to play at that level. That I recall, Camron Justice may be the only other 2015 signee with a Power Conference school in the state beside Beetle this year. Knocking the best we got doesn't say much for our chances. I also have confidence in Jalen Perry. He has improved a bunch since last June.

I think Beetle and Braxton combined to handle pressure and handle it very well. Obviously the Travelers are missing all the kids from last year. It's hard to replace all those D1 signees.

Congrats to all the kids that were chosen. I don't know much about the kids but I can tell you that I really like Eljay Cowherd's game. He really impressed me in the Ky-Ohio All Star Game with his ability to beat his defender off the dribble and dish to other players for easy baskets. I plan on attending the game.

Indiana leads the series because they have more talent than us. Nothing more nothing less. Anyone who has the privilege of seeing kids from both states play against each other on the AAU circuit will likely agree.

 

Funny thing about that is KY teams routinely beat IN teams on the AAU circuit.

There will be 10 times more discussion about who did or didn't make the team than there will be about anything that happens in the game itself. That's the #1 problem with the Kentucky-Indiana All-Star series.

How about the KY squad that just crushed the OH All Stars. KY won by 30 in a game they were picked to lose and there are only a few of the same players on the squad that will face Indiana. The OH squad was loaded with D1 talent and this KY squad may be better than that one. KY will be fine if they play with heart.
