Yes you can. Has been a pretty interesting class. It started out with the rivalry of Bird and Magic.

 

I never took that class but I've had other classes with Prof. Cobbs and he is fantastic. I'm sure his Sports Rivalry courses is great.

2. Mike Mitchell switching uniforms and leading the Birds to a state title.

 

Justin Frisk did the same. They had allegedly already started designing the next year's varsity offense around him while he was a freshman at Cov Cath. As it turned out, he ended up as a Bluebird the next year.

Zero, HHS has females which ends that right there.

I would say it was already well on its way but Dale took it up a notch. "Beat CovCath" became the dominant theme.

If she needs just extra facts and tidbits about the rivalry, I can say (as much as this pains me to say it as a CCH alum)the "Beat CovCath (again) (again) (again)" shirts are pretty funny. CovCath also dresses up in "Bird-Hunting" for all Highlands games (with the exception being the Cancer fundraisers [pink]).

 

And in your first post, the catch in the corner of the endzone to win in 2006 was Kurt Bovard.

I think the rivalry that interests people is football. I don't think

of any of the other sports as a rivalry.

Agree with Hellbird....nothing like the football rivalry.

I would agree with this. Back in the day, Newport Catholic was considered the number 1 rival of Highlands, but that changed a little when NewCath was reclassed in football IMO. Still has a little fire to it, mainly in soccer and baseball, but growing in softball and girls basketball.

Just as impressive as the catch...Bo has been employed at P&G for several years and is coaching basketball down at Holy Cross.
