6 Baltimore Officers Suspended Over Death of Prisoner

Featured Replies

A Baltimore TV station says a source says Gray's head hit a bolt in the police van and that led to his death.

Any conclusions on how head came in contact with said bolt? "Rough Ride", "Officer slams head into bolt", "Seizure caused him to hit head on bolt", some other theory?

If driver is the one being charged that would seem to open a whole other can of worms.

No conclusions.

The list I saw consisted of these charges (with max sentences):

Officer 1:

Second Degree depraved heart murder (30 yrs)

Manslaughter (involuntary) (10 yrs)

Assault/second degree (10 yrs)

Manslaughter by vehicle (Gross Negligence) (10 yrs)

Manslaughter by vehicle (Criminal Negligence (3 yrs)

Misconduct in Office

Officer 2:

Manslaughter (involuntary) (10 yrs)

Assault/second degree (10 yrs)

Misconduct in Office

Officer 3:

Manslaughter (involuntary) (10 yrs)

Assault/second degree (10 yrs) x2

Misconduct in Office x2

False Imprisonment

Officer 4:

Assault/second degree (10 yrs) x2

Misconduct in Office x2

False Imprisonment

Officer 5:

Assault/second degree (10 yrs) x2

Misconduct in Office x2

False Imprisonment

Officer 6:

Manslaughter (involuntary) (10 yrs)

Assault/second degree (10 yrs)

Misconduct in Office

It will be interesting to see what the investigation found and how each were involved and what they think happened to Freddie Gray.

Marilyn Mosby handled that press conference really well, IMO.

It was their attorney, not the Gray family. Also didn't I read that her grandfather, 4 uncles and her Mom were policemen?

And father.

Protests had an impact.

Doesn't sound like she'll have a bias perception issue with supporters on both sides of the incident. It's a lot to throw at someone on the job just a little while but she seems to be someone who can handle it.

They shouldn't have.

You're right. It shouldn't take protests to convince a prosecutor/judge that police officers who break the law should be held accountable.

Yeah Im about positive they did this so it would make the protesters happy.

Maybe they can go out and loot some more to celebrate.
